To recap:
Levien has blamed Winter (with Silverstein in the room and not disagreeing).
Martin has blamed Levien and absolved Winter, Silverstein and Kaplan of any responsibility.
Unless there's a boardroom coup and Levien is ousted, it's hard to see both Winter and Martin staying in post for much longer, surely?
Fair play to Martin, I questioned whether he'd be as bold in speaking to the media about his superiors as he has been about some of the players who he manages. He has been.
Were his comments driven by simple honesty and a desire to tell the truth about what went wrong in this window because he's so angry about it? Or is he positioning himself for the tap on the shoulder which he knew was coming anyway? And did any of those players who turned down offers decide not to accept because of what they had heard about Martin's management? We'll probably never know, but even if it's not what it seemed, hats off to Martin for putting his neck on the block and shouting 'swing away'. | |

Had he been backed in the transfer window then it would have given a better chance of a top six finish and a crack at the playoffs.
For him to put himself and the entire staff in Swansea in the firing line in the interview shows how angry he was.

Just give him more time, more money and more players etc.
Perhaps they are not prepared to sink even more money into a combination of management and players that they consider to be underperforming.
