It's a national social event. I just enjoy it for what it is. It's more about camaraderie and drinking in the afternoon than actual sport for most. It's not as good as it used to be when it affected our attendances, so we played on Friday nights and then watched rugby in the pub all day Saturday, but I still really enjoy it. Although it works out better for me, as it means I can watch more of it, I think Friday and Sunday matches should be stopped and all the games should be back to back on Saturdays | | | |

South Wales and swansea in particular is one of the most knowledgeable rugby areas in the world.
I genuinely feel sorry for people who diss other sports, because it's not their favourite.

Not so sure about the knowlegeable bit to be honest. Most of the crowd Do not have a clue it seems to me. Pi$$ed up with inflatable daffodils. I think the OP is on about the hypocrisy of it all as the regions attendances are crap. Also it is over egged. Pun intended. It receives far too much coverage for a sport of its standing in Wales. Three Beaujolais days per year it seems to me. I suspect interest and attendences were much better and knowledgeable before the regionalisation messed it all up as well. |  |

It's exactly the same when friends or family say to me "Oh the Swans are rubbish, the bubble will burst" and whatever stupid opinions they come out with, having never watched them and just basing their knowledge on watch their mates say or watch they see on BBC Wales, etc.
When I was younger and moved to sunny Skewen (a hot bed for rugby then), I had the impression you could not get a ticket for love nor money for the Five Nations unless you were in the know.
Now it seems they are easier to get than Swans tickets.
People can enjoy what they like, it doesn't bother me that much.

I agree. The other one that gets me is there is no trouble In rugby whilst you would swear football supporters are beating the crap out of each other every game. True in the 70s and 80s but that ship sailed long ago. I have been up in Cardiff on 6 nations days and it is not pretty after the match and when chucking out time approaches. | |
