"You seem to be more concerned about the Conservatives breaking an election manifesto pledge than the fact that this would have been a progressive tax increase. Not only that, but the poorest self-employed will be paying £470 more per year because of the abolition of Class 2 contributions. That's the real story! If Corbyn had any idea at all about NICs, he would have congratulated Hammond for the progressive tax increase and asked why he hadn't gone further by removing the NICs cap.
Hard to argue with that, and I speak as one of the people who would have paid more tax as a result.
