Ash is in the right position as this cross comes in,
1st not enough pressure on the ball prior to the cross
2nd Barkley could clearly see the striker make the run in behind Ash and should have taken responsibility...

Good points,that cross was inch perfect and traveling at pace, as for the second didn't Southampton score from a similar position.Not every goal can be stopped some credit has to be given to the attacking players as well,poor old Williams has been our rock this season.If anybody needs a kick up the bum after yesterday its Dyer shocking in my book after one Messi like pass that led to Bony's goal. | | | |

Sometimes you credit the opposition.
Taylor tried to stop the cross but didn't, Ash should have cut out the cross but didn't . Bartley should have been tighter to the Man city player and followed him in to put pressure on but didn't.
3 things we could have done better but at the same time the cross was superb, the movement from Man city was superb and the finish was sublime .
This is what happens when we play teams like Man city who are bang up for a fight. If we had played the Man city team of a few weeks back then things might have been different, truth is that yesterday after going a goal down they decided to concentrate and bring their A game.

That wasn't an attempt to tackle Toure; he was trying to sweep his legs away and missed.
He seems to me to be increasingly resorting to attempted thuggery, which seems to invariably go wrong. I suggest he tries the novel approach of actually playing the ball. |  |
