Crystal Palace and West Brom set to battle for Neil Taylor 15:46 - Jan 13 with 1698 viewsthomasJack

Crystal Palace and West Brom have made enquiries for Swansea City defender Neil Taylor, Goal understands.

Both Palace and West Brom have made signing a new left-back one of their top priorities this month and Wales international Taylor figures highly on their respective wish lists.

Former Palace boss Neil Warnock had earmarked a move for Taylor to help solve their problematic left-back spot and new Selhurst Park chief Alan Pardew is also understoond to be a big admirer of the 25-year-old.

New West Brom chief Tony Pulis, meanwhile, is keen to add to his left-back options as he is not convinced by Sebastien Pocognoli since his arrival at the Hawthorns.

Taylor's future at Swansea seems uncertain despite being a regular in the side this season, with manager Garry Monk believed to be looking at left-back targets in January.

Taylor, who has battled back from a serious ankle injury sustained in 2012, is entering the final 18 months of his contract at the Liberty Stadium and has yet to agree a new deal, alerting Palace and West Brom to his possible availability.

The key point of that article is "set to enter the final 18 months of his contract".

Surely that tells you all you need to know given who his agent is?

"Michu, Britton and Williams could have won 3-0 on their own. They wouldn't have required a keeper."

Ash has three and a half years to run on the contract he signed last year so I doubt it.

Although on past history of the agent nothing would be a surprise.
