Birchgrove 15:07 - May 1 with 3712 views | jack_lord | We will be moving back into Swansea this year. My daughter has friends in different parts of Birchgrove that are in School with her and wants us to consider moving there. I have no idea what it is like and though it looks pretty decent, anyone comment on good and bad points of the area?

We had a good drive around earlier Paul. I think it is nicer down the Ffordd Scott end but there is a house up for 160K not far from the gwalia houses on ffordd y mynydd. Could be worth a look but didn't see any Chinese take aways. We saw a CK's and a couple of pubs but so easy to get on to the motorway and it took just over 15 minutes to get to Singleton. Probably about 30 minutes in rush hour.

It's nice up there Steve but we are trying to buy something where the kids can get to Cwmtawe on the bus.

if you are looking at your children going to Cwmtawe you would be better off in Trebanos or Alltwen as Birchgrove is not in the catchment area. Basically Cwmtawe catchment area starts just above Coedgwilym Cemetry and goes up to Ystalyfera over to Rhos and up to Gwaun Cae Gurwen

My daughter is already at Cwmtawe as an out of county preferred placement in Powys. There are school buses that run to Cwmtawe from Birchgrove Glais Ynystawe and Clydach. Daughter just said there is a bus to the school from Neath as well. It would be easier to get a house in Alltwen or Trebanos but we want to be closer to Swansea for our own work and obviously "civilisation" :).

Jarv lives in a nice spot, Bryncoch is another place, I'm sure a Cwmtawe school bus goes up that way as well, my mates lad is in school up there, he's with the Swans Academy and they've a partnership with them meaning their academy players go there for their schooling.

Apparently there is a bus from Victoria gardens in Neath that picks up in Bryncoch then Rhos. Where is Jarvs living?
