Stateside Jacks consolidate 13 American supporter groups, become
at 21:54 9 Jul 2018

Thanks all for the positive posts about the Stateside Jacks International Supporters Group.

Its taken a lot of time and effort but I'm very pleased that we have been able to connect so many new and existing Swansea supporters in the United States to enjoy games together etc.

The more groups and fans we have support the club the stronger we become as a fan base.

If you know anyone that is based in the United States that wants to share their love of all things Swansea City please tell them about the Stateside Jacks supporters group.

Cheers

Jon

Fao all our new American friends who are posting
at 07:08 5 Oct 2016

My thanks go to you for a good post Fath. The vast majority on this forum are kind and welcoming to the US based Swans fans. However there are some who have posted on this forum and even on this thread (you know who you are) who have made the US based fans feel unwelcome with some crass and distasteful jibes. If you feel inclined to do so I would ask one thing - please note that it is not through our choosing that the club now has a US based ownership group and US manager.

With this in mind we all have one thing in common - the love for our football club - Swansea City. If you are with or against the US ownership group or with or against the appointment of a US manager the bottom line is one thing - our club/team needs our support - now more than ever.

None of us can be sure how the appointment of Bob Bradley will work out, but I'm sure of one thing - he will be more likely to succeed with our support than without it. In the meantime my thanks go to Francesco Guidolin for helping us to remain in the Premier league last year ... Ciao Francesco.

Post of the day for me. Now we need to see positive action from all sides. It's been a slow summer so far - even Everton are on zero signings.

The section of the statement where the new shareholders mention meeting the trust is correct - the new shareholders have met with certain members of the trust.

The section of the statement where they mention meeting the trust is not a lie. The new shareholders have met with certain members of the trust. How many times I am unable to say.

I've been saying for the past few days that in depth discussions with the trust have not occurred due to the deal not being fully concluded financially or legally, today demonstrates that very point ... hopefully discussions can now take place in a full and positive manner ...

I would rather be somewhat optimistic rather than blindly pessimistic and downright untrustworthy, some people just cant let go over the petty days ...

Hey Guys, the new share holders are about to hold a press conference, make sure you have your pitch forks, burning torches and rope ready to welcome them !

Hardly what you call propaganda. Your cynicism on the share buyout situation (and come to think of it most other topics) is utterly cringe worthy.

After the pessimism that has been thrown around after the Trust Statement this week, I've been saying for two full days on this thread and one other that the share buyout has not been finalized as some of the financial and legal details were not complete on both parties behalf (sellers and buyers).

As the share buyers are in South Wales the latter part of this week the final financial and legal details will be completed. Now that the share buyout will be concluded the hope will be for talks with the Trust to "continue". I understand the general concern and need for discussions to continue between the Trust and the new share holders in order to help build the confidence of supporters, however the doom mongers on this discussion board are not doing themselves or the general populous any favors.

Lets see what the new share holders have to say before you all label them as untrustworthy, ill-intentioned, uncooperative or any of the other multitude of descriptions that have been bandied around on this discussion board.

But would the share buyers start discussions with the the trust if the share buyout had not been completed? Preliminary discussions maybe - but they certainly would not hold full on meetings to discuss a new shareholder agreement or plans for the clubs future until all things financial and legal had been completed.

Several posters in this thread seem to want to blame either the share buyers or the share sellers or both and cannot seem to comprehend that discussions may not be able to take place until both of the above have been completed.

Lets wait and see what happens this week with the potential announcement of the completed purchase and what the new share holders have to say (said he struggling to wade through the the volumes of pessimism here today)

What if the delay on the completion of the buyout is due to existing/selling shareholders?

That's a possibility, as is the fact that they felt that they could not talk to the trust until they were able to fully complete the share buyout (which is complex enough in itself).

Has anyone considered the fact that in depth discussions with the trust will likely take place after the share buy out is legally/financially concluded and Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan are officially in place?
