MOTD
at 19:09 7 Feb 2016

Did they have a bigger drum? Definitely louder.

Pardew knows the value of the 12th man, saw him gesturing to the away end to start up and keep going towards the end of the game. I've not seen our managers do that, although I know Ayew does it and a few other players.

I've noticed that often when it does get going, our singing and clapping speeds up to the point of climax! Premature Jack elation!!!
Pressure on PoG to keep it going slow and steady (Swiss Tony!), but the only way to continue and drown out the away fans.

As for MoTD, New song to add to the collection, to the tune of Tom Hark, "always last, on Match of the day..(repeat)"

Comedy nights in Swansea
at 09:35 9 Mar 2014

IceBar in SA1 which hosted the Swansea comedy festival closed down.

Grand theatre has a regular comedy night, as you have said, but is he main place to see established acts.

Similar to Fowler in the Liverpool v Arsenal game many years ago. Fowler said no penalty but ref didn't reverse the call. Fowler took the pen, saved by Seaman but scored by another player.

What if he deliberately missed it or passed it to the keeper?

I think Neymar missed a penalty a few years ago along the same lines but wasn't certain if it was done deliberately.

Thinking about it, what was I thinking, having a man at the back of the 18 yard box at a corner. How ridiculous !!

...could space hoppers come into this somewhere ?

Dydd Hapus Dewi Sant.
Wiki page-"..by the 18th century the custom had arisen of confectioners producing "taffies"–gingerbread figures baked in the shape of a Welshman riding a goat"
Obvious double entendre but not seen these and what exactly is the shape of a Welshman?

Don't know if it has ever been tried before, what about players using something like the rugby line out to lift a player up at a corner?
Could use a blocker like West Ham did to give Carroll space.
Downsides would use 3 players to do it, would require practice, need players who can header properly and on target, possible injury when landing.
I've seen a pic of Bony leapfrogging a mid sized player standing up! Could work, or might turn into leapfrog piggy back ballet moves.

The other alternative is to have a man at the back of the box on corners ready for when it clears the goal area!

Having witnessed numerous overhit corners over the years, I think the first is more likely.

Goal taken off Bony

Never mind, they all count and another for our 3rd(?) top scorer then.

SWANSEA BOSS LAUDRUP: I WANT TO SIGN 'OWN GOAL' - BUT CAN'T FIND HIM! Mon, 12/30/2013 - 07:06
Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has his eyes on a new goalscorer - though won't get his man.
Laudrup admits his team are struggling for goals this season.
"We need to get a couple of players back," said Laudrup. "Our top scorer in the Premier League is 'own goal'. I think he has four.
"He’s a good player. If we could sign him and add another ten more from somewhere, we will be fine."

Injury Latest
at 17:22 27 Feb 2014

Just wondering if there was any updates
Michu's stupid ketsbia ish kicking the ad boards, may have played a part in the injury being worse.

Russian window closing tonight?

Nothing mentioned about Bartley, hope he's back soon. Showed the fight and effort required for our last few games.

win or get a score draw, it would be funny to hear our fans singing the chorus of Jo Dolce "Shaddap you face" in the ground to the Nappies.
A p!sstake like that is the only excuse for singing it, or even hearing it.

On yesterday's performances
at 09:22 2 Feb 2014

If the game was still bing played through till now, we still would not have scored. Zero shots on target. The lofted ball into the box didn't work the first 20 times and was not going to towards the end of the game.
Same with the Tremmel Ash passing at the back. This has been an issue the last few games and was an accident waiting to happen. Should have been sorted put on the training ground.
Confidence and unity is what the players need, we as supporters need to keep encouraging them even through the poor performances.

"What a tackle by James Tomkins"
at 09:08 2 Feb 2014

BT mentioned before kick off that Webb hasn't given a penalty yet. I saw it in real time a thought it was a penalty, even in the replay it took a couple of times to see the slightest of touches to change the direction of the ball but the full force on Bony's knee first. Must be a foul if you take the player before or after you supposedly get the ball.

There wasn't a big appeal from our players though, unlike the sending off.

Newcastle's Remy banned but Norwich's Johnson wins appeal
at 20:05 30 Jan 2014

Shocking decision by the FA, had a chance to set an example against play acting and trying to get another player sent off (Remy did enough on his own anyway). Johnson pushed him back though.

Uniteds first goal yesterday
at 15:44 12 Jan 2014

MotD highlighted this in the post match replay showing the line for the last man and circled Valencia, he was offside but Manky or the others didn't even mention it.
Needs to go old school without interpretation for the speed of decision to be made. If an attacking player over the halfway is anywhere between an opposition defender and goalkeeper they are interfering with play.

light weight and getting bullied

That has been the problem for quite a while.
Lack of pressure, too much space and time allowed for the opposition, not being physical enough in possession.
That said, thought today they showed a bit more character and a step in the right direction compared to the Hull game.
