Boycott Sunday - Show Your Intent !

Just want to say a huge thanks to the Swansea fans for making our last day in the Prem such a good one. We had a great time in Wind Street on the Saturday night, Popworld, the Griffin, are the two names I remember. I particularly enjoyed Popworld, reminded me of Reflex (cheesy 80's music).

Before the game, we were in the Pitcher and Piano, up on the outside terrace. Swansea and Stoke fans coming up with some brilliantly inventive chants. Plenty of gallows humour. No real trouble as far as I could see although there was a few words exchanged between a group of young lads and a bunch of fairly hard-as-nails looking Swansea lads. All handbags though I think.

Brilliant atmosphere at the game from both sets of fans. You wouldn't know we had both gone down. Again some fantastic chants coming out as well. After the game, we ended up in the Coopers Arms (?) just up from the ground, where there was truck loads of light hearted fun with both sets of fans getting involved. We even had Swansea fans giving their take on Delilah at one point. Great fun.

Genuinely a pleasure. Will definitely be visiting again next season assuming it's not a stupid Tuesday in the middle of January.... which you just know it will be.

Vale is located in Burslem. Genuinely not a bad night out if you avoid the local misery pubs..... although I imagine they're probably having the best few weeks of their boring lives currently.

I'm disappointed with Joe only because he's tried so hard this season. 100% in every game. He would have left with his head held high and a lot of respect. He could have given up like the rest, but he's continued right up until the end. To list his house so quickly after (Shaqiri hasn't, Butland hasn't), just soured it a lot.

But indeed, every representative, including chairmans owners etc

Indeed, that's the plan. I'll remember Wind Street when we're deciding, is that on the Saturday night then? Couple of my mates were on about Cardiff, but all I've heard is that it's a bit of a grim night out?

We've been saying how it could be dogs abuse from both sets of clubs to the players and staff, but then we failed to muster any kind of atmosphere at home. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the trip anyway. Down on the Saturday hopefully for a night out, then the game Sunday, returning fresh as a daisy Monday.

As for Joe, I can't see him being at Stoke. His house went up for sale minutes after relegation was confirmed (Something that has wound up Stoke fans a bit). It's a shame, but he's too good for us and has been all season. We're bottom for a reason.

Stoke Fan here in peace. Wish you all the best for the weekend, in what could be a joint relegation party. Hope you get your point across. We undoubtedly failed last Saturday to let our board know exactly what we think of them, so I hope you do a better job.

You certainly lost something when Gomis came on. He doesn't have the physical presence of Bony who really needs to be your main man.

Well, you ask any Stoke fan and they'll say you are by far the best team to visit the Britannia. Aston Villa were truly dreadful, but they worked hard and came for the point. It was only for a piece of dreadful defending and goalkeeping did they somehow score and take 3 points.

Leicester were slightly better but really, they stuck 11 men behind the ball and hit us on the break with their only chance of the game. We missed chance after chance and threw away 3 points.

You carved us open at times yesterday. Just bad luck you didn't take chances.

The problem is the chances you missed. The Sigurdsson one was criminal really. You just don't get chances like that very often and to mess it up so badly he should get a right bollocking for. You take the lead there, I think you'd have probably won comfortably. When you scored the penalty, the guy behind said "we could be 3 nil down by now" that's really how much of the play you had. I think we all feared the worst. To ring that old cliché, it's a game of two halves and truly yesterday was an example of that.

While you didn't react to Hughes subs, as far as I'm concerned, Hughes started with the wrong team. He wanted N'Zonzi to do what Whelan does which you could see he was incredibly uncomfortable in that role. Whelan is very underrated for us. He sits in that Makelele role and when a player as talented as N'Zonzi (twice as skilful as Whelan, twice as quick, twice as talented) can't do it, you realize how it's not just a noddy role and it's the vital bit of glue that holds it together. Cameron came in and showed why he should have started and why he shined against Belgium for the USA in the World Cup.

There's no doubt you deserved a point. Not sure about the keepers dive on the Walters goal mind.

OK, I'm guessing that Stoke fans aren't very welcome on this forum at the moment but I figured I'd come in and give at least some perspective from our end. It's actually nice to see a forum where you aren't all calling us 'horrible people' and 'greasy inbred scum' which is what we're used to from the likes of Arsenal , Chelsea etc. We're just normal fans like you, so kudos for keeping it civil :)
I'm not a TV fan btw, I sit in the Boothen End if you're wondering, so directly opposite yourselves.

I'll get straight to it, as far as I'm concerned, neither were penalties for me. By the letter of the law, both were by definition penalties but if that's what football has become then it's not the game I grew up with. For the first penalty, tussling like that goes on in the box at every game in the football league. As has been pointed out, Crouch is given a good tug by Taylor(was it?) and there's another where Ashley Williams seems to get a good chunk of Crouch which was in the second half. To me, that's all fair game and is just part and parcel of football. Perhaps opinions on that are changing now, but it'll be a shame when football becomes a non-contact Arsene Wenger sport and there's no such thing as tackling or challenging. Not that I'm accusing Bony of anything, but for a guy who is incredibly strong outside of the box, he did seem to go down easy in the box, as evidenced by his repeated falls under ANY kind of contact. He absolutely battered Shawcross most of the game so it was odd when I saw Wilson (a fairly weak player) bring him down under not much contact.

I do wonder how much of it was Michael Oliver's desperation to be 'the' celebrity ref who gave the penalty for tussling in the box. What with the MOTD attack on Shawcross a few weeks ago it was no surprise when it was given. 15 minutes of fame, funny how it backfired mind.

The second penalty was a dive for me, but again by the letter of the law there's a tiny amount of conduct so it's a penalty. Not what I like to see though, and although at first from where I sat it looked blatant, TV replays show there isn't much contact at all. I don't believe Oliver was influenced by the crowd as those muppets on MOTD suggested, but I do believe he was trying to even it up. Of course, he could have saved all the nonsense by just not giving either penalty.

I noticed one of you mentioned Walters coming on however most Stoke fans believe that it was Geoff Cameron who changed the game for us. We missed Glenn Whelan in midfield and in the first half, you were waltzing through and really should have been out of sight. Once Cameron came on with about 20 minutes to go, we looked a more solid outfit again. It gave N'Zonzi the freedom to push up and Cameron was only player to effectively deal with Bony as we saw in the build-up to the goal. He certainly made the difference in my opinion.

For what it's worth, it may come as little consolation but in my opinion you're by far the best team to come to the Britannia this season. In fact, excluding Man City, you're the best team we've played this season. Yes, we lost to Villa, Leicester and Sunderland but all three of those games involved a shit tonne of luck for them and none for us. Yesterday, you played far better than all three of those and the game simply involved some luck for us and not much for you with you missing your chances, especially the Sigurdsson which had us behind the goal in disbelief.

You're not going down, I wouldn't worry about that.

Good luck for the season and hopefully see you at the away game! :)
