I remember a certain John Hartson used to come and watch us when he was playing. No one said a word about that.

I wonder how people would be judging him if he had finished even 20 per cent more of the chances he made or was given. That was always the frustrating thing for me. With the fraction of a second more that you get in the Championship might be all that is needed. Obviously a top club man, who has tried his heart out for this club, and his experience will be invaluable as we rebuild.

FFS. Take the Loyalist sectarian rubbish back to the bog it came from.
I know my welsh history, had two grand dads who fought and were gassed in the trenches fighting under that flag. I'm sure they would be mortified on this day of days to see it hijacked for racist politicial purposes.

A few five-minute Welshmen and Dic Sion Dafydds in the post. If you want to support England, do so, but leave my country's team alone.

After seeing that...

All this nonsense about Joe Allen is pathetic. Not once but twice, did we have the opportunity to bring him home, and not once but twice did we reject him as not worth the money. If we had, Joe and the Swans would still be in the Premier League, but we didn't, and he's a little bitter. Go figure.

Yes, embarrassing really. Especially the abuse of the likes of Naughton. He stayed, and, obviously has convinced the gaffer he wants to play for this club. I am enjoying the football this year, hugely. This is a team with a hell of a lot of fight in it, and that is going to win far more battles than a team of paid mercenaries.

Another decent performance
at 05:37 18 Aug 2018

While perhaps the football quality wasn't the highest, the effort and fighting spirit was top drawer, none more so than the lads who have come through the club's development system. I must admit I am enjoying the football far more than past two seasons, and I am over spending millions speculating on how much desire mercenary players have when they come here. The fact is we never got the ones we really want, because of our isolation or whatever, so we had had to pay over the odds for bottom of the barrel journeymen in what became a vicious circle of ever-diminishing returns. Surely going back to how we used to do it, with clever scouting of players who fit our mould, and fit our team and community, is the way to go. Moneyball only works when you have unlimited funds and I am in no hurry to get back into the Premiership only to go back into that spiral.

Calls to axe 'racist' Zulu film
at 09:34 27 Jun 2018

Watched the film on my 62nd birthday, a fortnight ago, Loved it once again, for the drama, the amazing war scenes, and the respect given to the Zulu warriors all the way through the film. It is an old fashioned epic, but there is absolutely no derision to the Zulu warriors, none at all. It was a heroic episode in our history, and that it was embelished is a known fact. It is a work of art. Not a documentary. And all those post modernist idiots who want to reimagine history fail to understand is that all history is about creating wealth and defending wealth, it is our addiction to growth, as the evolutionary biologists point out, and unless you are prepared to go to the root cause for all conflict, you are just making ill-informed noise - chatter.

I will clarify my feud with Moonie once and for all.
at 23:52 17 Jun 2018

Okay kiddies. Listen up. Firstly, Calling people a stigmatised label because they hold a different view is an unfortunate modern habit which has become far too common in this playground. It is an extremely lazy and unintelligent response, the lowest form of debate. I actually think both of you were wrong, because, secondly, people aren't born equal, but that doesn't exclude them from having basic human rights, but pointing out a scientifically proven fact (that people are born with widely divergent characteristics is self evident) does not make you a white supremacist. The correct response was to refute the statement not attack the person, and then none of this would have occurred. Got that. Now play nicely, there's good boys.

Bony
at 08:21 5 Jun 2018

All I am reading on here is no-one has a clue how markets work, in the Premier League or elsewhere and all this criticism of Jenkins et al is just vitriolic abuse. If Bony is on 100K that is what AT LEAST he was getting where he was almost certainly offered a pay cut to sign. But as Carlos admitted NO ONE ELSE wanted to come here. NO ONE. That is why we got who we got, and they got paid what they got paid, because, and I will repeat, NO ONE ELSE WANTED TO COME HERE. Get that through you thick heads. We are left with what we are left with, because in our desperation to stay in the Premier League we paid over the odds. It isn't the first time, and it won't be the last.

Fede and Naughton put in transfer requests?
at 11:00 15 May 2018

Was about to post similar thoughts myself. If they go, feck em. They aren't good enough for what we need anyway. We have three years until the money runs out. Let's spend it getting back the Swansea Way. Develop our own, and scout those who are bursting to play at the top level. We have spent to much on Billy Big Bollox types, and Gold Chain Charlies. Remember where we got Leon and Lee and Ash from. Far happier watching them giving all, than the Muppets we have had recently

So then, out of interest-What year did you all start supporting the Swans?
at 10:38 24 Apr 2018

Me too. Dad had moved us to England for work and I went and saw the Swans a year later at the Vetch before we moved to NZ. Was not to see the Swans live again for 49 years.
