Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread UPDATED
at 22:48 2 Sep 2023

the only worry is, when (not if) they sack him - I give him to the end of October if we dont see radical improvements, will Watson get his way and bring Nathan Jones in, or a manager who brings back progressive, possession and passing football?

Rest In Peace 'Gwil Llew'
at 21:30 30 Jan 2020

A great guy, was Gwil. I have know him for a very long time.

As the TNT's post said, he was a passionate Swans and Wales fan. Mad about them both, and they were a huge part of his life.

And as epaul said, he was a submariner, and I affectionately called him sailorboy because of it.

When we all got together, in recent years in the Railway before games, we always used to quiz him about his job on the uboats. And he would always pull the Official Secrets Act on us, with a big twinkle in his eye. We should have called him Bond!

He could be a cantankerous old buggar, which we took the piss out of royally. He loved it secretly, I'm sure.

But he had the heart as big as a whale. Such a lovely bloke.

Will miss you, sailorboy. Rest in Peace, my friend. Rest in Peace.

Let's not forget the former Chairman of the Trust's role in all of this. I think the Fat Vender carries even more of the blame, but somehow seems to get off lightly, with Big Nose carrying the can for it all.

or, he will have missed 2 days training and prep for the game, so will be on the bench at best, as they planned for him not being available?

he has said, when asked that question, no. He couldn't keep training at the intensity needed to play at the current let alone PL level, as he kept getting injured because of it.

So no. he didnt retire from the Swans early. He knows his body better than anyone else.

Simple answer to one of your Qs - the Trust tried to buy Mel Nurse's shares.

Mel wanted to sell them all to the Trust.

The other shareholders invoked the shareholder agreement to prevent the Trust from buying those shares, that would have taken them over the magic 26% shareholding, protecting them and giving them more rights.

So the Q you should be asking is, why did those "sellers" block the Trust?

LondonLisa - how to Shift Money

Hi Lisa,

There's a post on the SCFC Site which details how the Trust's "accountants" will never find money being squirrelled off the books and into the pockets of the Americans.

I'd be interested in your reaction to this.

sorry, not buying that.

they knew they would be left with one Centreback at the end of the day if all deals went through.

The Spanish market is open until 31 August.

They could and should have delayed selling Amat until they got a replacement in.

To sell FOUR of your centre backs is just too stupid for words.

They will have been 99% certain that the deal for Clucas was going through. They knew his medical history as he passed it at Burnley. so could have done the medical and agreed terms with one of their midfield targets, and agreed terms subject to him going. deal sheet it. bingo.

its bollocks. they do not want to spend any money.
