So ‘Cullen rejects significantly improved offer’ wouldn’t have been better then because it would have been an absolute guess. It’s one thing for you to make things up and portray them as fact. This website can’t publish articles on that basis. |
| Forum Reply | Contract option taken for Liam Cullen at 17:44 25 Apr 2024
The main difference between Cullen and Yates for me is that Cullen doesn’t play like he’s given up. I rated Yates earlier in the season, even when it wasn’t going well for him he was tenacious, chased everything and didn’t shy away from physical battles with bigger, stronger players. He’s lost that. I really wanted to see how he got on with a less agricultural style after Duff left. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked under Williams either. Similar attributes and Williams will want to bring strikers in. Can’t see the need to keep both of them if I’m honest and Cullen is probably easier to move on. |
| Forum Reply | Jamal Lowe you know it makes sense at 16:23 16 Apr 2024
This is where I’m at with it. He’s not really a striker and not really a winger. Versatile sure. It’s great to have someone who can play anywhere across the front three, but I’d hope we start next season with a better specialist striker and better specialist wingers. He’s not going to be short of offers and if he’s not going to be first choice, the money he is likely to command may be better spent elsewhere. |

Grimes often gets compared to the player he could be and that’s fair enough. He hasn’t got close to the Potter season on a consistent basis. At the same time, Grimes at the level he plays at, is still comfortably better than any central midfielder we’ve had since Downes. Allen would be (and Grimes looks better when Allen is the heartbeat of the team and he’s got more license) but can’t stay fit or last a full game when he is. Potentially Walsh, but we’ll never find out and he probably would be at a bigger club if he played all game every game. |

Surely it would make sense to give him half hour or so in the next three games and put him in the window. There must be teams looking for powerful target men, particularly as he’s quicker than you’d expect. Reduce the inevitable loss a bit. But yes, ideal time to try Kyrell Wilson. |
| Forum Reply | Tedious but well deserved, Swans win thanks to on loan Cardiff City player at 19:03 13 Apr 2024
They were actually quite well organised and defended as a unit. They had absolutely no ambition and were inept in possession, but they weren’t easy to break down. We always struggle against teams that just come to suffocate the game. This is the type of game you need an Ntcham replacement. |
| Forum Reply | Kukharevych at 18:58 13 Apr 2024
All I can think is that something has happened behind the scenes that we’re not privy to. In his brief cameos he did look raw but he also looked to have a bit of potential. Particularly now we’ve got wingers getting crosses in and no height or physicality up front. |
| Forum Reply | Kukharevych at 18:50 13 Apr 2024
I backed Yates for longer than I should have. I’ve given up on him now, though he’s the type of player who will go to a Blackburn or a Stoke for a massive loss and bang 15 in for them. Cullen just isn’t a lone striker. He’s better behind one or playing the Cooper/Paterson role. |
| Forum Reply | Kukharevych at 18:43 13 Apr 2024
Watson I assume? At least as the lead voice in the transfer committee. They’ll give us the line of buying players for Duffs style, but Duff didn’t pick him either, nor did Sheehan. Yates has struggled. Cullen has done ok but isn’t a centre forward. You’d think he’d have been a decent fit for all three of them. I’d understand it more if we still had Piroe knocking 20 in. |
| Forum Reply | Kukharevych at 18:36 13 Apr 2024
Disappointed but not surprised. Let’s be honest, there was nothing on todays game. Nice to see Govea get a run, but I’d have liked to see Abdulai and Kukharevych. Wouldn’t have harmed to have had a few more under 21s on the bench. I’m normally quite cautious about when to throw them in, but today and the next three games are opportunities we don’t get every season. I now agree with Whiterockin from earlier, if Kukharevych isn’t getting on today, we won’t see him again. |

Wouldn’t surprise me. Face value that would be a ridiculous decision given there’s nothing really on this and at the very least it could put him in the window. Then again, I don’t know what’s gone on behind closed doors |
| Forum Reply | Plymouth v Leicester at 08:24 13 Apr 2024
They are reasonably safe now. I don’t care about Plymouth one way or the other, but I’d imagine if Whittaker goes, they’ll get more for him as a Championship than league one club |
| Forum Reply | Swansea City v Rotherham United : Match day thread UPDATED at 08:22 13 Apr 2024
Four games now with virtually nothing on them. Ideal chance to play Kukharevych and give some of the youngsters a bit of game time. Whether it’s shaping the squad for next season or putting people in the shop window. We don’t often get opportunities like this with no real pressure on the result. |

Bradley Clement Duff Honourable mention to Carvahal for cock teasing us with a great escape then imploding. |
| Forum Reply | 🔴 Should Williams play the academy players ? at 13:23 9 Apr 2024
I think we need to take him out of the firing line, but Cullen and Lowe are the realistic options at the moment. If we win tomorrow, I’d be more than happy to see us blood a couple of academy players Saturday. |
| Forum Reply | Ronald fatigued after a promising start at Swansea City at 11:11 9 Apr 2024
I’ve changed my mind on him. I’m all for giving players time. The people who were slating him after 2 or 3 games were doing the same to Bony not so long ago. Yates, sadly though seems to have deteriorated. He looked a nuisance earlier in the season, he didn’t have the physicality and was being asked to play a role that clearly didn’t suit him, but the endeavour and aggression were there. Now, he’s not much more than a passenger. I can’t see anything other than him leaving cut price in the summer or going on loan early next season. |
| Forum Reply | 🔴 Should Williams play the academy players ? at 15:53 8 Apr 2024
The Yates bit 100%. Start of the season he was making runs, hassling defenders, getting outmuscled but not backing down. Now he looks like his confidence is shot to pieces. He’s slow to react, almost like he’s not fully focused, doesn’t close down as much/as aggressively and doesn’t seem to relish the physical battle. I wouldn’t be throwing untried youngsters in yet. I’d be starting with Cullen or Lowe. Beat Stoke or Rotherham and there’s nothing to lose by doing it. |
