Did you go to this game: Jimmy Rimmer Testimonial.

For our Throwback Thursday photo we posted a scanned image of the matchday programme from the Jimmy Rimmer Testimonial match against Man United which took place on 24th Feb 1987.

It seems the then Swansea Chairman Doug Sharpe and Jimmy had their differences. After calling him a true professional in the programme notes he adds:

Not that Jimmy and I see eye to eye on everything. We have had our differences, but at the end of the day whatever we have done has been for the greater benefit of the Club.

WeAreWearside previews the Sunderland match

We asked Sunderland fansite to preview tomorrow's match at the Liberty Stadium.

Is the Swansea game a match you look forward to on the fixture list and for what reason(s)?

It's a funny one really because generally speaking we have enjoyed a pretty decent record against Swansea - home and away, unbeaten in four games (the only four since the 1980s). I'll be honest though, when the fixture lists come out I always mentally mark this game as a home win so no, I don't look forward to it really. In my experience too, they haven't been great games to watch with the exception of last season's 2-2 draw, which feels like a decade ago. Mentally draining being a Sunderland fan you see!

When Swansea score there’s no feeling like it! Are we right? Even more so now that we are in the Premier League and those goals are being scored against top clubs.
