Crystal Palace support

I've seen them a few times now and everytime I've been impressed with their fans. Pardew even commented on the fact they were louder than when he was playing, which is remarkable really when you consider pretty much every other club has followed a different path with the advent of all seater stadiums and more family focus.

Clearly they've allowed a significant section to develop a foreign style 'ultra' section without the violence in which they stand, wave flags and bang drums all game. It's great to see as modern football is becoming more and dominated by away supporters becoming the most vocal as they tend to be the hardcore, likely stand up throughout the game etc

My whole point is that could we do something similar? Yes we have a section that is more vocal but it doesn't seem organised i.e. it should be absolutely clear to anyone going there that it's the most boisterous section, that nudge nudge wink wink they're more likely to stand and there should be more ease of access for huge flags, drums etc.

Just because we're in an era when atmospheres are something we used to do, there's no reason why this is irreversible. I'd love to get some of the culture of north bank back e.g. why not open up this section to walk up fans so you have a section with no season tickets and only open to those who turn up on a Saturday. You could also impose an age restriction of >16 years old of something.

Bring back the terrace culture without the violence.

UKIP & the EU
at 17:18 10 Jan 2015

Can someone explain something to me, let's not beat around the bush the reason people vote UKIP is because they want to pull up the drawbridge.

But the whole debate regarding immigration is around 'EU immigration' - this is the sort of immigration that has no real tangible cultural difference. Do people really worry if we have a few more italians, spanish etc?

Really?

Let's be honest non EU migration is more of a drain on our resources and far more dangerous in terms of crime/terrorism and community cohesion.

Yet because of UKIP all we ever hear about is EU migration, this seems mad to me as this immigration is a net benefit to the Country.

I think our future is in the heart of Europe and we should be coming together not growing apart. The key should be pulling up the drawbridge to parts of the World which have an open hostility to us.

This moral relativist nonsense has meant that we've been hard nosed on those fleeing persecution in Iraq for instance like the Iraqi Christians - we should be helping people like them but we can't take sides apparently. This is where we've completely lost it.

Garry Monk

I'm not sure he is the right long-term manager for us. I've watched the swans for a while now and we seem to be going backwards in the quality of our football and some tactical decisions leave a lot to be desired.

I look at Monk and I see a coach, I don't see a manager. I hope I'm proved wrong but I can't see us moving forward with Monk and the attacking passing football will be a thing of the past if we don't watch it.
