I actually liked the first half, too. I didn't think any of our players played exactly 'well' in that half, bar RND notably, but I thought we looked safe and structured , worked hard and worked sensibly.
On the assists, I always think every goal should have an assist, but I can see why Kone officially only got one. In fact, both can be debated - one was a block-down that ricocheted kindly, one was a shot that rebounded kindly. So I get it. But I'm with you - two assists, and we're out of here. |  |

A little bit on Burrell's 5 goals in 5 home games.
Burrell's five goals in five consecutive home games is the first time a QPR player has achieved that since Tjaronn Chery in 2016 scoring at home to Fulham, Birmingham City, Derby County, Brentford and Middlesbrough. Before Chery the last players to score in 5 home games in a row was Charlie Austin (2014), Gary Bannister (1986 & 1984), John Gregory (1983) and Rodney Marsh (1966).
To put this in perspective the likes of Les Ferdinand, Stan Bowles, Kevin Gallen, Clive Allen and Adel Taarabt never scored in more than 4 consecutive home matches.
If Burrell scores against Birmingham he will be the first player to score in six home games in a row since Conway Smith achieved this in 1954.
Brian Bedford and Tommy Cheetham hold the club record for this, scoring in 9 home games in a row.

Absolutely love this Clive - A great write up on the game.
I thought we might get overrun in Midfield but that didn't happen at all and I'm not sure if that was because we were good or WBA were poor.....maybe a bit of both.
Anyway there really is nothing like Loftus Road under the lights with the team attacking The Loft second half when you have a front two who can cause all sorts of problems. That's two home Saturdays in a row now I have enjoyed myself and the wife gets to see me and the kids come home happy. She is not used to to it either. |  | | |

Very fun. And not a game we would have won for a while (can you imagine Dykes Armstrong and Frey punishing teams like that).
Probably first time since the Wells-Eze-Chair-Bright foursome where you always feel we can hurt teams, with an equally suspect defence as MAGA Geoff and his gang of non defending defenders.
That said, streaky club + streaky manager feels like we might be in for a tough Christmas period. Portsmouth and WBA away look absolutely nailed on for 0 points against crap teams! |  | | |

Great stuff Clive! Didn't hear anything about the game till after the final whistle, so I was very pleasantly surprised to hear we'd won well, and great to see the Burrell/Kone partnership flourishing once more.

Game should have ended 4-3 to QPR.
Too many mistakes in defence by both sides. Lucky WBA seem to be a former shadow of their resolute blood and thunder teams we have faced over the years.
To me it looks like they are missing Furlong at RB as well. They look insipid. If they dont rebuild next season I can see them slipping away into the Reading void. If this is what they gonna be like in trhe future, lets keep em around so we can always have another team worse than us.
So far, we have done great during these really testing fixtures for Nov and Dec. Just one more win should see us away from a relegation battle and into the New Year, whereby we can do the unthinkable and do a great escape above 16th! |  |
