Steve Cram at the Winter Olympics is appalling. He’s bad enough for athletics but his Curling commentary is toe curling. He can’t shut up and nothing he says is of any interest, as is clear as soon as the experts with him speak.
And he absolutely loves using technical Curling terms as if he’s itk. It’s embarrassing.

Yes, I thought Brian Moore was really good.
And I liked John Helm.
Gerald Sinstadt was great as well, his commentary of Channon’s goal against Liverpool was class.
Also another mention from me on Clive Tydlesley. I love this commentary of his on Lambert’s goal against Skates in the Cup (we won’t talk about the rest of that game….)
John Helm is still working, he’s 83 but still commenting. He is the lead commentator for Lincoln City’s streaming service covering most games this season.
Agree 100% re Sinstadt on the Channon goal against Liverpool, can you imagine if that had been David Bobin?!
I was so pleased Brian Moore did our 4-1 win over Liverpool as I still watch that game occasionally, wouldn’t have been the same if it had been the BBC covering it with Motson on the microphone.
Also agree re Clive Tydlesley, I just don’t understand why the standards today have dropped to such lamentable levels, screeching women commentators, incoherent mumbling and intellectually challenged pundits and so on… Surley the people in charge can see how pathetic some of these people are, do they do it deliberately? Or are they just as stupid?

unfortunately its no longer about employing the best people,apparently you have to be fair to all walks of life be it gender,sexuallity or colour even though that quite often leaves you watching and listening to total morons
