Great with everything to do with the club even small matters like the way he looks after the mascots. Loved the wind ups particularly the wins over Luton when he was giving their fans the three fingers. A real character long may he stay with us.

Not necessarily reading anything conspiratorial into the meaning behind it or Dunne's reaction - but I did just think "fùcking hell that looks annoying for Jimmy"

Thought he was a ropey panicky centre back to begin with, but first name on the team sheet now and moving towards leg end status. Hope he's with us until he retires. Just looked and he's played over. 40 games in every season he's been with us except 23-24, when it was 30 [Post edited 26 Oct 22:28]

He also won the free kick for the 5th goal. Are we gonna spot light everything he does in a game ? Also this thread was meant to be our captain Jimmy. [Post edited 27 Oct 7:19]

| Our Big Jim on 07:33 - Oct 27 with 582 views | ChrisNW6 | I think Jimmy's seasons playing mostly as a right back really strengthened his overall game. Very composed with the ball, can drop a shoulder and beat his man. He has matured into a fantastic player both on and off the pitch. Captain fantastic Dunne | | | |
| Our Big Jim on 21:49 - Oct 27 with 340 views | CiderwithRsie | There's a reference upthread to his excellent partnership with Edwards. Am I being old-fashioned in thinking that a classic centre back pairing has one guy who reads the game and can bring the ball out of defence and one guy you can rely on to flatten the striker when needed? Big oversimplification here, good defenders can do at least a bit of both, but the Edwards/Dunne combo does remind me of classic pairings of the past - Roeder/Hazell, Fenwick/Wicks, Maddix/McDonald... | | | |

Didn’t he start with us with Dickie as his partner or is the mind playing tricks on me again

My first memory of Jimmy was in a pre-season friendly when I think we rested Dickie - google suggests it may have been v Cambridge, in between the friendly v Man U which we won and the one v Leicester (when they were still good) which we drew 3-3 The Cambridge game was a bit more fringe players but I was really impressed with Dunne - didn't think he had Dickie's class but very strong and mature for his age. Not sure how often they played together in the middle - vaguely have Barbet and Dickie as 1st choice pairing in my head
