Don't know if this is petty or not, probably is. But I think I'm right in saying that Nourry's diktat specified 433, possession based football?

After, I think it's something like 200 years without a penalty, Smyth wins three in four games. People talk about end product but I'd say that counts?
Love him to bits, really joyous seeing him performing like this. I said on the match thread seeing him up front with Kone was giving me Les and Bradley Allen vibes.
Fair play to JS seeing the opportunity to play him there, will be interesting to see if this becomes a regular feature, and whether he's now competing with Burrell for the same role |

Yeah with Saito and Dembele back, Chair supposedly back in contention, and evidently Kone out the other side of whatever ailed him (!) the injury list suddenly looks less dramatic. But, that only holds if we don't keep racking up new injuries... |

There was a recent comment from Kevin Gallen that Poku is too easy to play against because you know he wants to cut inside onto his left foot - which is true to an extent. But in that kind of scenario where we're already up the field and he receives a ball back to him he's shown a few times this season that his delivery can be absolutely deadly. Not dissimilar to the assist that Lamptey got early in the season. |

Like Clive said in the preview, we can scrape a decent-ish team together, and if Lloyd is available not the worst option up front in this kind of game. But the bench will be barebones (c) so going to be lacking options there and - god forbid - in the event of more injuries.
Agree with posts saying Swansea's position probably flatters them - there was that xG /xPoints table that has them way lower than their current position. We shouldn't be over-awed by any stretch, but a point is still a decent result given the bad vibes from injuries and recent loss.

Bit behind the curve here but finished season 2 of Severance last night.
What a show, absolutely brilliant. Takes a decent high-concept conceit and absolutely runs with it, examines it from a few different perspectives.
There's just the right level of absurdity sown through it, which hits a crescendo in the final episode. And this is my problem - as much as I loved it, I'm a bit wary about there being a third season. It's hard to imagine how they can go back to 'a day in the office at Lumen' after all the madness of the last episode. And it's hard to imagine how the continue the Mark S and Helly story at this point. I kind of loved the closing shot and the 'we're left to imagine what happens next' nature of it. It actually reminded me a bit of the freezeframe ending of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.
Superb soundtrack too, iconic - reminds me a bit of Twin Peaks in someways in that it's instantly identifiable. |
