FORMER PLAYERS 20:41 - Oct 11 with 6105 viewsVernat

Always been interested in the whereabouts of our former players - and I know there is already a thread on loan players - but here are some of the ex Seasiders who played in League 2 yesterday.

Bolton v Grimsby The Fonz started for Wanderers. Baptiste came on as sub
Sean Scannell sub for Ollie's side.

Cambridge v Newport Wes Hoolahan started for Cambridge

Oldham v Morecambe John O'Sullivan started for the Shrimps & Kelvin Mellor unused
sub.

Port Vale v Carlisle Nick Anderton in Chris Beech' s side

Salford v Tranmere Ashley Eastham for Salford; Peter Clarke & Jay Spearing for
Tranmere all starters.

Scunthorpe v Forest Green Jamille Matt scored hat-trick for Forest Green

Michael Jackson making a good job of saving Burnley from relegation after the sacking of Sean Dyche.

I've done a quick google on Mark Waddington. The player who left for Stoke with Telford.

Information is sketchy at best. He signed for Warrington Town last summer but don't think made any appearances for them. It's possible he might have recently retired from the game at the age of 25 (injury????) and started his own football academy.

Full name: Mark Thomas Waddington
Date of birth: 11 October 1996 (age 25)
Place of birth: Wigan, England
Position: Midfielder

Youth career
2013—2015 Blackpool

Senior career
Apps (Gls)
2014—2015: Blackpool 3 (0)
2015—2019 Stoke City 0 (0)
2016 Kilmarnock (loan) 1 (0)
2019 Falkirk (loan) 14 (1)
2019—2020 Barrow 2 (0)
2020 Blyth Spartans (loan) 9 (0)
2021 Warrington Town 0 (0)

It's a real shame looking at those career stats.

The lad's doing well.

We'll be playing against his team next season:

Bowyer missed out on the play-offs by 2 points and got sacked.

Wellens was the previous manager to get the boot there and he didn't last long.

It's a revolving door over there.

Ben Garrity's done well for Port Vale this season.

42 appearances and 12 goals.

On another note, and not that important, Gary Bowyer isn't a former BFC player.

After a very slow start to his loan period here, Simms came on really fast and finished the season impressively.

His ability's not in question but I'd put a question mark over him being too injury prone:
