Playing devil's advocate; the case against Eustace:
He has limited managerial experience (2 years to be exact). Whilst he did lead Kidderminster Harriers to the play-offs, it was in the National League. It's asking a lot to expect him to successfully step up to the Championship. Aside from this he had 7 games in caretaker charge of QPR, winning 2 and losing 4.
He was part of Warburton's coaching staff and therefore has to take some responsibility for the recent collapse in form.

He's been at the club since 2018 so his methods may now be stale. Clearly the players aren't responding to whatever message he and Warburton have been conveying in recent months. If he were offered the job he would need to change his methods in order rekindle the player's interest and get them performing.
With so many players out of contract, this summer is going to be an important transfer window for QPR. Eustace has no experience in the transfer market at championship level. [Post edited 4 May 2022 14:06]

Hardly surprising given that he's been linked with other championship jobs and played for Watford. However, their board does tend to look abroad and are not shy to pull the trigger. Take that job on at your peril! | | | |

Lots of caveats, benefit of hindsight., Beale on appointment seemed like an upgrade etc, but he does seem to be the one who got away. Sorted out the squad at beginning of Warburton's time, seems to be turning things round at mad Birmingham City. Had him under contract and seemed the obvious successor to Warbs. Clive asked Les about it and his response that Eustace was too involved with the squad was unconvincing (unless we regard that era as a failure). | | | |

Warburton should never have been let go. We used to laugh at Brentford for bottling the end of the season, they choked two or three times before getting it over the line. Now look at them.
We choked badly, but Warburton had turned it round before. Over his tenure we were making progress and, on the whole, playing bloody good football.
