Best kit of the world Cup? 19:37 - Dec 1 with 4416 viewsTonto

I quite like the German one.

Definitely not the dreadful England one and the less said about the fo t used for the names and numbers the better.

Said it before about the England kit and I'll say it again: designed by a person who does the mens summer collection for M&S.

Croatia as usual.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

France's Blue, White & Red is my favourite.

One other relevant point on kits, is the organisers are doing a great job of providing good colour contrast between the two kits in all games. Much better than we see in the Premier & Championship.

I like it, but why is it blue? Most kits are based on the colour of their flag, which is red and white in Japans case.

Germany and Italy both play in colours absent from their flag.

Funnily enough, I was just chatting to a mate and we were saying the Japan kit is probably the best. Followed by Croatia.

I prefer the French blue kit to the Japanese one.

(England's kit isn't following the flag colours either. Or Australia, or Portugal, although its kinda close)

Germany's colours are from the Prussian flag which modern day Germany evolved from and Italy's is the colour of the house of Savoy their last ruling royal family.

Hold up, when did Italy qualify for this WC?

Thanks, always wondered about the azzurri blue. (Same with Dutch and orange, of course.)

I read somewhere that the first England kit was same as the rugby i.e. white with red trim, but at the first Olympics England represented GB in football and adopted the dark blue shorts to reference the Scottish flag.

Germany look like a special edition Ford Capri. Don’t play like one.

There's only even a discussion on this because Peru didn't qualify.

100% agree. Love the Peru kit.

(Say it quietly but I quite like the Palace diagonal kit too. Not as much as hoops... but closeish)

Came here to say this, great kit. I really like the Ghana home kit too.

Yeah Senegal one for me.

Funny I think the Germany one is awful, while the England one has grown on me, but there you go!

Correct. I have a 1978 Peru shirt which I occasionally walk around in like a proper football hipster but its lovely.

Spain's home jersey is a 9/10 as well.
(Peru, and only Peru gets a 10).

Oooh yeah good shout Bri - one where they've used a retro styling to good effect (it's a nod to their 1998 shirt).

Away shirt pretty cool too although I hate having the badges down the middle.
