New signings...How long will it take for them to gel? 10:21 - Aug 22 with 2522 viewsPigbag

Over the moon with Dawson and potentially RC and also happy with a few others. But very worried with the amount of new signings and how long it could possibly take for the squad to gel as one. Anyone else have the same worries or thoughts on the matter?

Doesn't seem to matter. Just go out and buy a few more crocks and has beens.

It's one of those things where you have to wait and see what happens. We bought a shed load of players at the end of last seasons summer transfer window and we played well against Newcastle then beat Wolves and was unlucky against Villa, all be it with the international break to train in. But that could have quite easily been 9 points from 9, so it can be done. We still have the international break coming up after the City game in which to get them working as a unit, so I'm hopeful.

Your right, let's stick with the defence and tactics from the Swansea game - much better option than buying superior playing...

Bosingwa and Carvalho? No time at all.

Ringo Starr ate my hamper.

It depends on the players. What Carvalho brings is leadership and organisation, which was missing. That helps the others to bed in.

If you bring in leadership, its a lot quicker than with some arrogant flash Harry.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

one game, if we lose that one we'll sign another 4 or 5 for the next game, we're bound to find a good team eventually

Need to get these defenders in today I would say to have a training session in time for Sat - not sure if thats the plan but we need to move quickly.

Hughes is a very lucky man. A test if his skills would be to fix things for Carrow Road without new signings.

Wish I could be like David Watts

OK Defoe seems to be back on the speculation merry-go-round again! Is the car park gonna be big enough for all the Bentleys, Range Rovers etc?

Competition for places takes on a new slant.

Let's not forget that we had all identified the need for some more quality in CB position throughout the summer. We all expected and hoped that the club would sign at least one quality centre-back before the window closed. Not sure what the problem is here, we would have been splashing some cash on centre-back(s) even if we had beaten Swansea.

Lets just see where we are after the 10 game mark,by that time the window is well shut and hopefully MH has got a settled side.

At 10 games in we should have a fair idea of how the season is going.

Last season it took about two thirds of the season before the side truly gelled. I don't see why it would be too much quicker this season. Of course last season we also had a change of manager to disrupt things and Barton and SWP never really made the impact expected/hoped for.

Lets hope that the players this time round are of superior quality which allows for a smoother transition. Either way, chemistry and team understanding doesn't happen overnight.
