Like all of the loans they'll be coming back next summer and we'll still be paying for them this season

Apparently he was never all that good at Real Madrid either. Think we got tucked up good and proper with El Crapio.

Rubbish he was a decent a player and still is a decent player if you put him in a side who actually had a way of playing and a style he would flourish

It didn't work out at Rangers as we were/are a shambles

While I agree the guy ended up being a useless pile of sputum in his time with us, he got more assists in his first game back in Spain than he did for us all last season.

Fair enough if you saw a lot of him before he signed for us as I hadn't. Just going by what some friends said when we signed him who watch a lot of Spanish football that he wasn't all that great - a bit lightweight and drifts out of games.

And let's be honest most players look better playing for the best sides as well.

if he was that great he wouldnt have been signed by QPR

anyone else bid for him?

Our Spanish correspondent rated highly him when we signed him:

The insurance only pays out if the player has to retire from the game due to injury I'm pretty sure. Be interesting to see what the loan agreement was - is he effectively sent back to us to pay all his wages, or do they continue paying him? I think you can probably guess the answer to that one.

Perhaps I'm naive but surely when a club agrees to a season long loan there is a chance that an injury will occur and must cover themselves by stating in the terms that in the event of an injury the receiving club must cover the players wages etc...

He has actually a double knee injury, as not only did he rupture his ACL, he also damaged his meniscus too, and while that's not all that uncommon with knee injuries to do more than just the ACL, it's a real shame for him as it complicates matters.

He'll do well to return in six months, especially as it's also his right knee, which is his kicking leg, but hopefully he can come back. It's desperately unfortunate for all parties concerned.

he was a good player as he showed in the early games but Hughes didn't have a clue what he was doing and the rest is history. Getting used to a new country and dealing with all that went on with QPR last year is a lot to take whatever you earn.

Granero injured on 16:32 - Sep 18 with 5182 viewsdaveB

He's a decent player but was another signing for the sake of it rather than building with a team in mind.

Granero injured on 17:36 - Sep 18 with 5097 viewsNathanNI

What is this 'building with a team in mind' of which you speak?

Shouldn't matter. If they send him back and he is on our books then our insurance company will indemnify us for loss of wages. We should also be indemnified for the loss in his transfer value.

Either way, sorry to hear about the lad's injury. ACL's a cruel dose.
