Can someone explain how BST intend to buy the club?
at 13:16 28 May 2015

He's not check mated anybody but to continue the chess analogy its more like a pawn making the first move - an opening , barely even a gambit , and a clumsy one at that. The game has just started not just finished

What was the first pint you ever bought?
at 20:01 22 May 2015

The correct answer to this is surely "I can't remember" on the principle that once you bought one you bought a few more. However I will hazard a guess that it was a pint of Badger , Coach and Horses,, Rotherwick around 1981

Democracy at the seaside? by Basilrobbiereborn

I can't help but remember the enormous thread on the other site where a lot of people took the time and effort to make constructive suggestions about the club at Karl's request .Not much notice seemed to be taken and again , barring a dramatic sea change from the owners I see no reason to think the end result of this will be any different . But happy to be proved wrong as I said on another thread

I genuinely think that is a shame Giro , especially for one who has been posting for so long with not a little humour - it is quite clear that but for an accident of birth you would have been a Seasider and whilst that is an awful burden for you to bear I am glad Robbie is still able to offer his unique brand of counselling on this site

Ok , I am going on gut feeling as I haven't had time to fully digest this :

1./ The idea appears at first glance so left field I struggle to believe it came from any of the owners' family
2./ At second glance it could be a reboot of BSA so maybe it did

I'm afraid so much has occurred I'm fairly cynical about the whole thing especially as its season ticket time but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong

Big , splashy, poorly presented bait Allez , plus this is not a very good water for amassing a bulging keepnet . Or maybe you are specimen hunting ..

Just like last close season and The Riga Revolution eh ?

For your "great opportunity" I say poison chalice . Each to their own

HarryHorse is rather proud of being first in the book - although quite what for is anyone's guess . Probably would have been quicker to list who isn't in it come to think of it

Any sale or takeover certainly wouldn't happen overnight but if the buyer and seller agree on a price it shouldn't take years to do the due diligence etc ( on the principle two parties want the same outcome)

Suspect BertandErnie people said something similar about this time in 1978 , just using Rotherham instead of Crawley

I understand it too Robbie and agree .However , it is the implication that everyone over on "toxic avftt" is posting stuff like that that I took exception to , that is clearly not the case.

One thread with 40 odd posts on a very busy site . And not all the 40 are negative either (although I agree the ones that are don't look too clever) .

Indirectly BRR got over a ton , and not all of those are negative either - there is a danger here of some of you appearing just as agenda driven as the very people you complain about on the other site

Throw in a change of ownership as well and I reckon we'd be having the Band A debate again such would be the clamour for tickets

Thanks BHOK . Unfortunately the "Golden Ticket" as you call it will , if it happens at all , take time .If the ownership doesn't change there would need to be a quite astonishing volte face from those in control which I just can't see happening . And even if it did I suspect a sizeable proportion of supporters feel so alienated (me included) that that course of events wouldn't be enough .If the policies of the last couple of seasons are adopted for the next couple I reckon we'll be non league anyway , regardless of protests.

I take your point about the Premier Millions being no guarantee of Championship status but to use your argument the financial stability should have given us a platform to become established in The Championship . It didn't and so I see no reason to think this same argument will give us a platform to bounce back from the next division down , or from the one below that for that matter .
