Players we should have got rid - way before we did
at 19:28 14 May 2024

The hatred aimed at Barton, I think are for a few reasons

He has said repeatedly we were a small club who he cared for not at all and only obviously came here because we were stupid enough to offer him silly money.

The man has an incredibly high opinion of himself both as a person and as a football player

What he did that day at the Etihad was ridiculous. Yes Tevez should have got sent off, but if Barton had gone down holding his head, perhaps Tevez would have seen red and Joey was the sinned against until he decided for retribution thus endangering our Premier league status simply because he is and always will be a maniac.

He considers himself to be a decent human being despite denigrating random women football players, writing vitriol about random celebrities he does not care for, stubbing a cigar in a youth players eye, jailed for punching a man and a schoolboy 20 times.

He was an average player and yes there were worse players than Barton but he is someone who would be a nightmare neighbour no doubt and in my eyes wish such a dubious character had never had any association with our club.

The thread is about players we wished we had got rid of earlier, the reason doesn't have to be absolutely about just their playing skills.

Most would get rid of Barton because he is an extremely poor example of a decent human being and the evil within that Joey has, if I was a colleague of his, he certainly would not be someone I would wish to go be in the so called trenches with, opinionated, disruptive, violent and nasty. None of which am sure most teams would wish for such a character.

If he left and we had a worse player I am sure I am not alone, but for me that's preferable. Obviously would prefer at least as good, but yep first name for me out the door.

Nasty man who is seriously deluded as to his character, says his most hated time as a footballer was at this basket case of a club that he considered to be well beneath him.

It's not always just about the playing abilities that fans wanted rid of Barton. One man circus

To call John Fury a clown , that's kind

For me it's another five letter word begins with a p and rhymes with dick !!!

Probably all pre planned by team Fury

Boxing is a bit of a freak show worse than the circus these days...

If you have a disagreement with anyone nut them and then you are the better man.

Head butting joy

Great parental guidance there !!!

On similar topic as one staring who we should have kept, who did we hang onto way too long

I suspect this list will be way longer than the ones we should have kept

Appreciate contract lengths, wages, sale prices etc mean more difficult at times to get rid !!!

First on, I would have off loaded one particular player who had a realistic chance of getting rid to receive a fee and sellable on similar or better contract elsewhere.

Stand up Mr Joey Barton !!!

Was at QPR for four seasons, one on loan but a bad egg, creating even more dysfunction at a bad time to be a QPR fan.

Unbelievably divisive character and not nearly as good as he himself believed himself to be !!!

What is the point of Neil Warnock
at 19:54 11 May 2024

That's interesting

Yes can see why he would still wish to do this whilst he is still able

Am ten years off retirement and my job now is less stressful a day lower level than when was in 30s and 40s but will still work either part time or volunteering when retired

More than likely paid part time as I know that I am always happiest when I have plans and goals etc to focus on.

Will probably need extra cash anyhow for a few more years after retirement anyhow

I do get it with Warnock and with the level of football and finally a job closer to home will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Tbh I can only see this being a success.

He is still bit frisky is Neil for a 75 year old chap and sure even today he still loves the buzz

Links to be new Torquay United manager at 75

Recent appointments seem to last ten matches

Not enjoying the pipe and slippers scene is our Neil but keeps giving up with very short term appointments

At least it's bit closer to Cornwall than Aberdeen was !!!

I felt Tjaron Chery had potential to be a game changer

Think he left chasing money in China - not sure what went on with him !!

Scored regularly and was player of season as well and then disappeared

Actually thinking about it what were the reasons for Darnell Furlong leaving
Get away from his dad perhaps.

I think we got couple million for him which was fair enough

Another that surprisingly from my perspective who left and seems to have had a solid career is Jake Bidwell.... although wasn't concerned when he did leave

Transfer rumours 2024
at 09:52 10 May 2024

Snap their hands off

An injury free season ahead from JCS would be immense for us but is it likely.

If we adequately replace him with money in the bank, all good but can't see us being offered this

Probably maximum offer £3 million, or £4 million at the most and wouldn't definitely keep him than sell for that

I expect JCS to be here this season

Are all these extra EFL games on Sky full coverage or on red button
at 09:44 10 May 2024

Anyone know ???

Not speaking for myself as if am not there, watch QPR plus

But seeing as our fixture schedule will be so random, is the coverage red button standard

Ie one camera only, and no replays

Am assuming as so many matches going to be at very weird times, surely they will view in FULL COVERAGE as such disruption for RED BUTTON coverage would just smack of utter contempt for the FANBASE

I will start off with Conor Masterson

Would have been a decent back up centre half and whenever I saw him play for ourselves always seemed to put in a decent shift

Player of the season at league two Gillingham this year and six goals also.

Admittedly it's league two but I could have definitely seen him as a squad player.

Easy to say after the event but I did actually think he could have done well here and was surprised he never really got many opportunities here.

x or twitter or whatever - full of bored schoolboys or bored middle aged to senior gentlemen pretending to be such and such with big news - NOT !!!

As if Lee Hoos would comment on this anyhow. That would be called out as stepping on others toes !!!

Nice for us to have someone move further up the football ladder, instead of falling off completely or slipping down several rungs.

Well done Manisha. Good for you. Hope it goes well.

Opening day of the season
at 01:48 9 May 2024

With all of this, are these games going to be as per the red button games where there is only one camera, one commentator and no replays even of goals.

Or are they going to produce full coverage a la the normal live games that get a full pundit output at half time, Co commentators, many angles and replays from twenty five angles.

If its as the red button to be honest that's a waste of time.

If am not at a game , hopefully QPR plus still going, it helps the club but the red button coverage even the radio is preferable !!
