Derek Milton

There is a thread on this great R, however there is an obituary of him in today's Guardian, from which I learned that Derek was a friend of Norman Manley. former Prime Minister of Jamaica, they both loved cricket and went to Lords together, but much more importantly they were both supporters of Queen's Park Rangers.
We're here, we're there, we're every f**king where. QPR, QPR

Prediction v Pompey
at 10:37 27 Aug 2019

Way back in the dim and distant past, before history was invented
I went away on holiday on the same day that we played our second League cup match. We won 5-1 Wilkes got all 5

Some years later we played Portsmouth in the 2nd Round of the League Cup
I went to Paris. We won 5-0 O.G. Gregory 2, Micklewhite 2

Tomorrow I go to Paris again.

The signs seem to say that we should get 5

It was certainly a game played in good spirit and with a lot of skill on both sides, especially considering the heat.

QPR Women
at 11:06 26 Aug 2019

On a very hot day my wife and I went to the other side of Brighton to watch QPR Women play Saltdean Women, in the Women's football equivalent of The Conference.

Very entertaining, but very much a work in progress.
Rangers took the lead with a pen. The scoring went...
0-1, 1-1,2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 4-3, 4-4, 4-5 it was bloody hot ,did not envy the players

Typical Rangers though. We kicked off for the 2nd half at 2-2. We played it backwards, one missed pass, one shot and we are 3-2 down.

However our comebacks were good. Steve Q. and the staff worked well with the players.

Well worth watching and encouraging.
Give it a try if you have time.

We were well looked after by the players and staff.

Mexico Earthquake. Rangers connection
at 13:40 20 Sep 2017

Rangers fan and well known composer
Michael Nyman lives in Mexico City
Has not been heard from since the quake
There is a 40% plus loss of power etc. which may account for it.
Several friends are holding their breath and hoping all is well.

I was good mates with Tommy too.
Great loss.
I am still involved with bike racing. My son in law is a British Cycling pro coach.

I was in Dieppe last week. Walking le Grande Rue,when a young Frenchman turned to me. Gave me a thumbs up and said "Kway,Pay,Air"
Took me a few seconds to work out what he said. By that time he was out of sight.
Made me feel good,though.

Can't add much to the above
Have a look at the original Ghetto (there is a guided tour of one of the world's most remarkable synagogues),pretty central and not far from the station which is near the main stop and ticket office for the Vaporetti,
Stand with your back to the station facing The Grand Canal walk to your left go along the road where the buildings start. Just a few doors along on your right is a fairly unpretentious looking bar. It is almost always crowded, fight your way to the bar. Incredible cakes, great sandwiches and the best spritz in the city
Give it a go

Hoping for a good win.
Norwich won't be much interested either
Nothing to play for on either side actually. Except Ollie needs a good win more than Norwich do
