Bikes in London
at 19:39 28 May 2024

Been like this for years in London. Probably a few threads on it or posts covering it.

Whether their own bikes or the Lime etc rented ones, they just don’t care. Red lights, no entry, one way streets etc mean nothing to them and it’s everyone else who have to react to avoid an accident.
Strangely the one place they do seem to stop is on the Regent’s Park outer circle junction by Hanover Gate. Possibly because there are cameras everywhere due to the US residence just by there.

Rumour Plymouth manager gone

Derby fans still banging the drum that he did well the season they went down with the points deductions.

They seem to forget that without the deductions they’d have finished with 55 points and around 17th.
That’s hardly a good season when they had the likes of Allsop, Lawrence, Jaglielka, kazim-richards, Curtis Davis, etc in the team and i’m sure they would have expected to finish a lot higher at the beginning of the season.
Even if you take into account that they didn’t do as well as hoped knowing they’d go down anyway (human nature i guess) if we add 10 points for that that takes them to 65 points and around 13th, one place below where we finished. Probably still not close to their target.

The relegation seemed to cover up the fact he was pretty schit then too and I suspect Rosenior did most of the work anyways.

Would fans have tried to bunk in if the stadium had sold out all 90k seats?

I'm sure knowing it was nearly a third empty promoted then to do this.

I guess we'll never know for sure.

yeah, 89mins and 59 seconds of crap and then...... wallop!

I remember taking my missus to her work in Sloane Square on the motorbike and it was all yucky & drizzly. I then parked up around the back of Marylebone and met up with my mates for a beer (just the one for me!). Then the journey to the ground and the game itself.

On the way back and just getting off the train at Marlebone, this quite tall Derby fan, with his gf, 'accidentally' shoulder barged me. very brave considering i'm 5' 7". I gave it the "zamorrrraaaaaa!!" and he then came up to me thinking I was on my own and quickly backed off when my mates stood behind me :D

Derby said to their fans "bring your colours".
QPR said to their fans "we'll supply the colours"

Great touch.

The forever cycle….. each party blaming the previous for years of mess to clean up.
Would be nice if any government acted in a way they never left a mess to have to clean up.

They’re like children, but worse, so much worse because they should actually act like adults. Some of the petty squabbling we see on tv in the HoC is embarrassing and they all giggle like it’s a game.
I’m not laughing.

I think most governments are like any company….. on the whole most of the staff are ok but it the few cnts who end up at the top.

People absolutely should take responsibility for their own actions. Unfortunately they don't. Then when they see the PM behaving how he likes they just think it's OK to do the same. BJ and his cronies set an awful example.

Well thats ok imo, you’re voting for someone who has helped you out and has strong values. Better than “well, i always vote xxxx regardless” “my mum/dad/nan voted for xxxx so i do too”, “well corbyn wouldn’t have done any better…” “Boris is funny so i’ll vote for him” which you won’t have unless you lived in Uxbridge and South Ruislip and so on. How many people do this kind of thing without actually ever reading a manifesto?
I loved it a few years ago when a reporter went to guildford and asked blue-rinsed old ladies if they like a selection of policies, to which they all agreed, and the look on their faces when they were told they were Labour policies. “Well….. i’ll still vote tory anyway….”.

Whether people are left or right leaning I’ve always felt the core basic needs should not be in the hands of for-profit organisations. Public transport, health, education, water, gas, electricity.

Let capitalism have people fighting over whether they buy coke or pepsi, nike or adidas, ford or toyota, levi’s or Lee, apple or samsung and so on…..

I have no doubt that the mob knew exactly there were thousands of empty seats, that's why they went there... to bunk in.

When it was announced (and it was all over social media) there'd be a reduced capacity my first thought was 'people will try and bunk in knowing there are thousands of spare seats'. I'm not trying to be a 'told you so' but it was so fking obvious. The authorities are so fking cluless.

I said it then, I'll say it now and I'll keep saying it... the biggest fk up was only issuing 67,000 tickets. What a disaster.

How the hell was having 23k less people going to make any difference to any 'social distancing' type of rhetoric? 67k or 90k, you're still having tens of thousands of people on the buses, trains, underground, around the stadium, queuing at turnstiles, in the concourses, in the toilets, buying food etc.

Basically, tens of thousands of people thought " 'kin 'ell... loads of empty seats... I'll have some of that" so when 100k of them turn up.... carnage.

If all 90k tickets had been sold I doubt very much anything on this scale would have happened as those chancer tw@ts simply would not have turned up.

Reports suggest 6,000 people turned up without tickets. Bollox, I heard there were over 100k people in and around Wembley that day.

If it was 'only' 6k then they would have all got in with 15k+ spare seats still.

When we played that game I thought we'd get annihilated.
We lost 6-1 at Chelsea a few weeks before and our away games had been poor all season.

City dominated our game even more than Chelsea did but a combination of nervousness from City and fantastic defending from us kept it tight. Really, City should have won it by half time and we'd have never had the amazing 2nd half that we did and Sky would never have had their w@nkfest.

We never get the credit we deserve for making that game what it was.

It's like everything in life.... what starts off as the norm has to then be 'improved' upon in order to stand out, then that also becomes the norm so something else (usually more elaborate) then happens, then that too becomes the norm so something else is thought of that is even more elaborate and the upwards (or maybe downwards) cycle continues until it become utterly ridiculous.

She might manage in men’s football but at what level?
As said, shes managed a team with virtually no limitations. How would she fare managing Bristol City’s women’s team?.
