Definitely not a stupid bloke, and anyone who doesn't think we have an immigration problem is living in cloud cuckoo land. It'd just a shame the only 2 real parties in this country are incompetent and self serving at best, corrupt at worst. He needs to fade into obscurity now, a bit like Corbin should have done in the past, but his narcissist personality won't allow him to. The Government need at least 2 terms in power to prove they are worthy of the faith entrusted to them by the people. This budget has been a start in my personal opinion. |

Mametz woods is very eerie and atmospheric. A stroll around Flat Iron Copse cemetery next to it, taking in the ages of the lads buried there, is a none too gentle reminder about how easy we have it. |

Visited my Great Grandfather's grave in Amiens, back in July. I've also recently been to Cambrai and Thievpval memorials to the missing for his brother and brother in law respectively. Researched 50 local casualties of WW1 that are buried in in and around the Somme and spent nearly a week driving around the area. Went to 46 cemeteries and placed a wooden cross with an individual personal hand written message. If anyone is interested "The Welsh at War" is a must read. There are 3 volumes and aren't too expensive. Covers, The Somme, Mons, Loos, Ypres and Arras battlefields. Author is Steven John. "Lest we forget" [Post edited 28 Oct 22:07]

Vipotnik is without a doubt going to be a very good player, whether it's with us or not remains to be seen. We seem to be the graveyard of Centre forwards. |

I like Nathan Blake on the radio, think he's excellent, something I never thought I'd say |

He was awful, looked like he'd won a raffle ticket to get a game today, then out of the blue he whipped in 2 quality crosses. Think he will need time to get up to the speed and physicality in the Championship, hopefully there's a player in there. |

He was shocking in the friendly against that Portuguese side and I thought we were in big trouble, but he really has been excellent fair play. |

I know this has been done to death Lifey but I can't help but feel Grimes holds us back so much. He's a cracking pro, he really is but I think he stunts any forward momentum we have. He's been here 10yrs and not 1 club has made a serious attempt to lure him away, that for me says it all. |

Very encouraged by what I saw of Vipotik today, need to work out how they get the best of him. Thought he looked a bit Piroesque at times when he had the ball. |

Agreed, it's truly baffling. It's simple more shots = more goals. |

It's incredibly frustrating to see us getting in very promising positions, only to end up losing the ball or passing it back towards the halfway line. Cowardly choices being made, no leadership, no-one prepared to be brave, it was wet and windy, their keeper looked dodgy and we still didn't really test him from distance. The lack of urgency in the side with time running out is mind boggling. Ronald is very poor atm, no pace and easily knocked off the ball. |

I'd close the curtains and turn the TV up if they were playing in the back garden. It is funny now though seeing all the people with tickets desperately trying to offload them. |

And there was a photo of him on a lamp post as 1 of Normandy's liberators. Again , got a photo of that as well. There is a theory among some historians that, Gus March Phillips was also an author of short stories that a certain Ian Fleming got hold of after his demise. |

Visited Gus's grave recently, killed on a mission in Normandy. Marked with a UJ, got a photo but have no idea how to post them on here. |

Wasn't he the guy who said Downes was holding Grimes back and wasn't fit to lace his boots? |
| Forum Reply | What about Franco and Ollie today ? at 04:33 16 Sep 2024
It seemed pretty obvious from his first mins on the pitch that Franco was the best midfielder currently at the club. It was both amusing and baffling when reading some posters comments saying they were disappointed in him and couldn't see what he offered to the side. We will struggle to keep this guy for any length of time. |

Why do we seem so slow and unfit, I can accept WBA are a better team, but lack of match fitness looks concerning. You play against a better team and you have a high press, you combat it with high energy and make it uncomfortable for them when they have the ball. I thought LW was the correct choice, and I know it's early days but having grave misgivings. |

All said and done, give me a Cardiff fan before a Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City , Arsenal, Chelsea etc, plastic glory hunting individual, any day of the week. Far more in common than than we think or willing to recognise. |
