Can anyone recommend a properly decent one where you can actually pick up and look at a range of cameras? There has to be one in this great metropolis. When I was a spandex-wearing, John Candy impersonating pseudo American I used to have B&H on 34th St. Can't seem to find anything close to equivalent now that I'm re-immigrated. I went to Jessops on Oxford St thinking it might be alright and found it to be a steaming pile of utter, utter shyte. So any sage advice would be appreciated.

Have been to Park cameras a long time ago, and Tottenham Court Road used to have lots of independant shops (quite a while aho now).
Not sure there is anything like the B&H which is amazing - I actually find the larger PC World tend to stock quite a few different cameras if you just want to see how they fit your hands etc.
As an aside, if you were to buy second hand, I have used mpb and ffordes in the past and both have been good.

I'm thinking about a Fuji XT-20. I waited for a while to see what that new Olympus EM-10 iii would be like - nice responsive cameras, small - I've been using an epl-5 as a walk around camera for a while. But they didn't update the sensor on the EM -10, which was all I actually wanted them to do, so the Fuji seems like a better deal. We'll see...

I'm got an EM5II moved from a Canon 40D - love it bar the Continual AF. Never took the Canon out anymore sine kids, too heavy with the kids and bags trying to climb on me at the same time.
I like Fred Miranda, but for UK based forums, that you can also buy second hand stuff from I use https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/talk-equipment.14/ lots of threads in here on FUJI Olympus etc - some interesting points, and lots of people happy to answer questions (and plenty of fanboys...) - you can't use the classified until you have been on for 30 days or something and contributed a bit in the forum - but good deals to be had there.It's grown quite a lot, and they have nice tutorials on there, competitions, 52s, 365s etc if you like that sort of thing.

Well said Oak. I believe that there will soon be a move either by photographers or manufacturers soon. The traditional Canon and Nikon are just too heavy to carry around and Olympus and others are making very good cameras that are smaller and lighter. That may mean that either Canon, Nikon and the like will have to alter their market to be only for the high end or invent a new line that caters for those who want the lighter Fuji or Olympus. My brother-in-law moved from Nikon to Olympus and loves the fact it is so easy to carry around and easy to use. I, though, am at the high end when back home, working at football and rugby games. The Canon 1DX II plus a 120-300 lens weighs in at around 12-15kgs and running around with that at the rugby is quite some exercise. Each to his own, as they say.
The main thing is to work out what do you want to use the camera for and secondly to know, as Oak said, that there are few, if any, bad cameras around. Lastly, I guess things are a little different here, but most in Oz tend to buy their cameras, etc, online through companies out of Hong Kong. The transport cost is quite low and the quality good. However, if you are going to spend a lot of money, buy from a shop that will guarantee you service when it is needed.

Thanks, Oz. I'm ok with the choosing part - have some of the same full frame weight issues that you do. Just been struggling with what's around these days on this side of the pond as far as shops go - online and off. When you live somewhere for a long time you start to take for granted your knowledge of where is good and where is shyte. It was still dial-up when I left for The America. So these suggestions are very helpful.
