Taken from their R30 Tour in 2004, the stage entrance featuring intros from songs from their first six albums then the whole song from their seventh. Superb.
This will do nothing for most, indeed it's not particularly 'artistic', but for a thousand or so gents of a certain age and persuasion in Greater London the first 12 seconds were a criminal record.
If you are asking for the best intro, it isn't a debate, it's...
Remember once playing in a footie tournament in Bangkok. It was set in a big stadium, and we were drawn to play the opening match. We came out from the tunnel into the stadium with this song booming out of the loud speakers. I've never felt so ready.
Apart from running the gauntlet at Ruts and SLF gigs as well as on the tube home. A few recognized me from Rangers and ended up having a chat. I know Dean was a roadie/ security for sham and seemed on stage a lot from footage I’ve seen.
There were a few of us punky types and we stood on the half way line on the away end paddock. Venables called us those strangely dressed characters in his program notes once.

..and indeed, Dean is still occasionally found at Loftus Rd.
There are loads of Cure songs better than this one but I love the intro on this. Nearly 4 minutes of electric guitar wah wah action before the vocals come in. What a way to kick off an album!!
Voted best bass line ever (yeah i know...everything is 'ever' nowadays).
However it is rather stonking, and the guitar solo where 2 parts are played alongside each other on one guitar by the lead singer aint too shabby either..........
Love em, or hate em, i give you the Teignmouth Trio.......
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
I saw him open with this on 4th July at Wembley Arena back in 88ish. I say open, but the intro was about 10 minutes long with everything Americana marching around the stage and then he slides in just as the normal opening starts with a ‘awwwwooooh’ and the place damn near buckled.
