The original series of Grange Hill 10:52 - Jul 5 with 4238 viewsloftboy

Now available on ITV X premium. Always love this as it started the same year I started at senior school, watched a couple of episodes yesterday and at the football trials one of them is wearing a 1970’s QPR shirt.
Had totally forgotten that Bullet Baxter wasn’t in the first series and there was a different games master.

Bullet Baxter

Going back in history

Mrs Mccluskey

But teacher I didn't like and was identical to my form tutor in secondary school, the very scarey Mr Bronson.

Zamo was on my flight home from Corfu a few years back. He obviously had a good holiday.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Mrs McCluskey wasn't in the early couple of series either. The guy who played Jim Bergerac's boss was headmaster.

The original series was filmed at Kingsbury High School where I had just started teaching. I was running a training session for my under 11 team and had to ask the actors and crew to move off the pitch we were using. My car featured in a scene where Tucker was admonished for being late!

The 'Just Say No' video was filmed at my school, Grey Court in Richmond.
Turns out when they went to the White House to meet Nancy Reagan, who had supported the Just Say No campaign in the US, a few of the cast was stoned off their heads.

If you were / are of a certain age and watched this first time round then I 1,000% guarantee you cannot look any fella in the eye whose name is Roland and call him by his name and not a) think of the chubbster in GH and/or b) say his name as "Row - land" with the pause between

Also...

Trisha Yates..... wasn't it? mmmmmm, wasn't it? Original chav Farrah Fawcett.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Worked with one of the ladies from GH. I think her character was Christine.

Lovely lady.

they used our house on wormholt for one of tuckers friends home but we got nothing for that , in 1988 they filmed an episode of the bill and we got about £250 for that

Once bumped into Gripper Stebson (Mark Savage) on a 207 bus . Must have been 1982.
Dressed in all white like an extra from MJ Bad video.
I remember thinking, shouldn't really wear white on these buses.

one of the characters takes his Indian girlfriend to Loftus Road, and she is racially abused. I think it might be Jon Alford’s character.

I’m sure I remember an episode of tuckers luck where he is standing in the loft and his name appears on the scoreboard to go to reception

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Trevor Cleaver lived round our way, he drove a bright orange ford fiesta mk1.

Couldn't miss him.

I think my Mrs Hooping may have looked after his kids in her youth.
