| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 08:25 - Feb 8 with 3516 views | stevec | There’s a woman with an ACL injury she got last week, taking part in the Olympics downhill today. Wonder if she’s any good on the wing. Regards this announcement, the way he went off last week it was pretty clear he wasn’t coming back any time soon so I’m not sure what the fuss is regards what hour of the day the update comes out. Talking of which, where’s our match report? [Post edited 8 Feb 8:27]

But is it a three game Olympics with two long distance away races and a dodgy home pitch ?
| Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

I do think people are over-thinking it a bit. Not a problem I've ever had 😆😆

Lindsey Vonn is the woman. Looks like a massive gamble that has gone badly badly wrong.
| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 11:48 - Feb 8 with 2965 views | daveB | It looked like an ACL the way he went down and went off, terrible for the player, I hiope he makes a full recovery and really bad news for the club withouth doubt they'd have been planing to sell him in the summer but chances of getting any money for him now looks a lot smaller. All feels very similar to what happened with Chris WIllock went from cast iron big money sale to can't give him away with one injury. | | | |

Competing for the Olympics, the pinnacle of your career, is a bit different from protecting a medium term financial asset in league games, too, apart from the different needs of their respective sports. There's always something particularly poignant about sports people missing the Olympics.

Terrible injury notwithstanding, Willock "on one leg" in his final season still managed to contribute more goals and assists than £3m Saito achieved last season and probably this one too. That's before you look at what he achieved for us in previous seasons, feats that none of our motley crew of current wide players will ever come close to matching. [Post edited 8 Feb 13:47]

Couldn’t believe the abuse on the Instagram page not just to Dembele but to others too like Bennie. Must be difficult for these young lads. Some people are vile aren’t they? Speedy recovery Kader!

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 23:46 - Feb 7 by numptydumpty | There are ways of writing a news update and it can instantly be editted for the different formats required ie whether that's for instagram, X, facebook or as a website news item. And can be done in an instant. So yes odd some news is being relayed in one particular way only. |
I'm glad that's the case because when I was a social media manager back in 2017 and 2018, posting on the company website was a lot more complicated than tweeting. The former required a good understanding of WordPress, which I found pretty challenging. Tweeting, by contrast, was the proverbial piece of cake. For those that don't know, it is also possible to schedule social media posts, so they can be published automatically while you're doing something else .

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 00:09 - Feb 9 with 2118 views | LazyFan | For Dembele, I don't think the ref even said it was a foul when it was a clear foul, and I think the Cov player was already on a yellow or should have got one for that foul. Anyway, let's see Norry brag about how our injury record is no different from anyone else's this season. Get your shirt printed, at this rate come match day you may be asked to step up. No me, I am too busy being a keyboard warrior at home in my jimjams. | |

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 17:27 - Feb 3 by Stanisgod | Bring back a Prav style page in the programme. We always knew how Matty Rose's knees were in those days |
Prav was the head physio at Wasps and was very highly regarded there. Don't let any of our lot hear this title but i believe he's the "National Medical Manager" for the Welsh RFU these days (isn't it lovely for you?)
| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 07:58 - Feb 9 with 1912 views | Rsole | Now the window has closed, I wasn’t sure where to post this but there are rumours of a new signing from the USA. Broken leg and torn ACL but she should be ready next season. Comes with a free helicopter and basketball sports science knowledge. Value and one for the future at 41. | |

Well said. Vile is totally the word for online abuse these players get. People tend to forget also, they are only young lads in their twenties, when your robustness to a few nasty slurs is harder to take. Dembele himself is only 22. Get well soon Kader. [Post edited 9 Feb 8:09]

To be honest the position on Poku has concerned me most this season, we were led to believe he was a fantastic prospect, but he has just spent the whole season bar a few cameo appearances on the treatment table.

She'd just come back out of retirement because her knee replacement (other leg) had gone so well. I'd imagine even with a ruptured ACL there was no way she wasn't going to attempt that race. Can you imagine what the physio's and Doctors were saying to her? Absolute nutters those downhill skiers! Anyway, I'm not sure that its possible for a footballer to play a game in a knee brace, if thats where we are ending up? I wonder what the issue is with Obikwu? Not even seen any video of him training with us yet. It's got to be beating Kieron Dyers record with us! I hope he gets a chance before our current FW line flog themselves into more "contact" injuries

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 22:55 - Feb 7 by BrianMcCarthy | I'm not judging on it, Kensal. All I'm saying is that the club has faced two years of accusations about exactly this kind of thing, and that this leaves them open to more criticism. |
Still can't see any reference to Dembele's injury on the official website which seems a bit odd.

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 21:13 - Feb 9 with 1210 views | numptydumpty | i have to say the injuries are beyond reason, in terms of numbers and severity. And yet only recently, Stephan answered questions about Kolli being carefully managed due to the likelihoods of him picking up injuries. We also are told RND cant ever do three game weeks due to being injury prone, yet these are two that dont get injuries under our watch that often. Again, we have an entire performance team that so called manages injuries. i do question whether this is all a load of old bull at times as we have never in our history had so many injuries ever since we have been under the reign of Ben Williams and his many merry men / women. Seriously, the science behind this, seems massively unproven. i am getting so p*ss*d off with this line of protecting players so they are introduced gradually. Absolute nonsense as the ones we arent protecting are getting injured and vice versa. These ideas seem to be making things worse not better. Its along the lines of never playing two up top and the other nonsense about the centre backs and the goalkeeper always looking for the short pass to build up slowly, but this happens when attackers are right up on them, and make a suicidal decision that occasionally leads to goals being conceded. The nonsense of football..... [Post edited 9 Feb 21:17]

JCS (LOL), Varane and Chair are training. Although we all know that could be 1 week or 1 month for them to return. Probably due another one of those vague injury updates from the club by now
