Paul Smyth up top
at 17:15 28 Oct 2026

It was 4-4-2, Smyth played the Burrell/Lloyd role brilliantly and took pressure off Kone having to press which he is not very good at.

I would be holding Chair back for a bit, maybe off the bench against Lincoln but no rush for him.

Conningham was a lot busier when we arrived around half 12ish, C&S is a great pub but is always rammed

he's done some really good stuff which he gets tons of praise for, think he's also made a lot of mistakes which I'm less keen on. Neither the genius nor idiot that he is painted as

Kemper was outstanding, one pass he made second half down the line, perfectly weighted for Smyth, he's been really impressive since coming back

Back after the international break has become a new catchphrase at the club last few years, international breaks treated like a magical passage to a new beginning.

long term that is of course a concern on the sales but for this season and getting the team to perform those players out tomorrow may be available for selection in 4 games but for how long, can't see any of them doing more than an hour for the first 2/3 games back next month then in for one rested the next. Thats the pattern with players here at the moment and then as soon as they play 3/4 games in a row and begin to look like their old self they breakdown again.

I hope you are right. i just feel like I have been hearing the same stuff from the club for 11 years now, different voices but same messages spun in different ways. I'll believe it all when i see it

I couldn't see how if we didn't go up under Warbs that the club couldn't make a lot of money on likes of Dieng, Dickie, Willock, Chair etc and we know how that ended. I think we all expected to sell Richard Langley for loads many moons ago and he left for a few hundred grand. We didn't even get anything for a genius like Adel.

Edwards is the golden goose at the moment but who knows if we'll get a big profit for him, we did spend a lot on him and Burrell has looked good but missed half a season last year and that explosive pace does not seem to be there this season and he's of course out again.

Was the same under Les, maybe waited a bit too long with some

That was the talk after his first season, we had a 20million on our hands if he carried on that way, not sure I ever believed that but it's been a big drop since then

I thought he did OK as well but it's a big drop from next big thing a 20million player in the making to on the bench behind a centre half playing in midfield. Hopefully he grabs the opportunity and shows what he can do.

It's the same theme but he's never looked right since the injury he got early last season.

Lets see where the recent pushes gets us as well. Could well end up the same again.

I can't see a massive difference to be honest of what we did under les and what we do now.

Under Les we signed young and sold for profit, Smithies, Freeman, Furlong, Eze, Bright, Manning etc We spent money we had brought in through sales which are not happening anymore. If Willocks hamstring hadn't exploded we could have sold hm in 2022 and reinvested again.

The current great hope for a big sale in Varane can't even get in the team anymore

What’s the main reason for QPR’s recurring injury crisis?
at 11:22 22 Oct 2026

When players come back they never seem to get fit again, as soon as they push themselves they break down again.

Short term we can cope. Burrell was out anyway so have Kolli or Kone up front. Varane can come in for Madsen and Lamptey wasn't playing either. Next 2 games are tough but not impossible.

Problem long term is if Madsen can get back to what he was last season, he doesn't seem to trust his body at the moment and first game he got back to pushing himself and getting all over the pitch he gets injured again. Kone is the same.

When my son was having an operation a few years ago Matt helped me get a video message from Albert Adomah which had my son in tears, he still talks about it now. He even followed up after the op to check on him. Matt is a really good guy, hope the new job at West Ham goes well.
