AF was in the crowd with his son and dealt with all the requests for photos and autographs like a gentleman, including mine when I asked if I could take a photo with him alongside my son. Of course, I naused it up. I think I was more gutted than my boy was as he was our favourite player back then. One of my favourite ever Rangers players. It would be nice if his family are there on Saturday to see how much he meant to us. What a fantastic footballer he was.

It was a great evening with Ale being superb company & we followed it up by winning at home to Watford on the Saturday. It's best if we forget about the match after that, although Clive never will! My two abiding memories of Ale were only a week apart. His celebrations at Watford after promotion was assured & the following week against Leeds where he looked absolutely drained. Not surprisingly, as he must have been carrying the pressure of the investigation on his shoulders. No, he was not our best ever player, but he is alongside Gerry Francis & Gary Waddock as my favourite!
