For many seasons we have been so inconsistent, rising up the table only to slide back down again.

Tough run of games . No win in the next 4 or 5 which is very doable and we will be in amongst the ‘shit’ again .

and yes we beat the league leaders and played well against wrexham, i was there...
but we also had bad results against teams at the bottom of the table, which makes us inconsistent and bang average....that was my point.

That sums it up nicely - when the fun stops stop and I did - unfortunately it got to the stage when the 90 minutes of the game spoilt the rest of the day - and the worse thing is I haven’t missed it enough to return because what’s on offer has not been good enough often enough to tempt me back. |  |

Agree on the pitch this season begins to look done. And if it's not, just as likely we get pulled close to the bottom 3 than we float towards the top 6.
But off the pitch I think there are some important months coming up, which will decide whether or not the general direction of travel is working. We've spent a lot of money over the last 18 months (last 6 in particular), and there's a good chance we end up with exactly the same result as the two season before - 15th to 18th in the table and out in the 1st and 3rd rounds of the cup. The test then is if the sell upwards model working? To prove it probably needs us to sell about 3 players at a fair to good profit - my guess would be Varane, Madsen and probably Kolli (now Dembele has an ACL injury so no-one will take him). If we can't do that, one may begin to wonder what the last two years have been about. | | | |

Well I agree Mart, it seems a long way off - Our fitness is woeful and players picking up knocks so easily if so frustrating.
But I refuse to throw the towel in, we have had some good results this season and many highs. We are now going through a low and the team need us as fans behind them. Its easy to say now, because people listening to reason is unlikely to happen after a shocking performance. But every team has them and we will have more I'm sure. But this is a young side and we need to keep the faith.
I still say that if we on August 1st 2025 we had said we would be 4 points off the play offs and 13th come February, then most fans here would have accepted that. Trouble is we have had some good performances and that has raised our expectations. Today was a well overdue slap round the face and welcome back to reality. So we start again.
Convincing anyone tonight wont happen I know that, but as the dust settles, people will see today for what it was. | | | |

The season was probably done the minute Burrell (our top scorer) limped off to join Chair (our top creator) on the long term injury list.
It would be a huge achievement to put together a playoff push without two such key players.
We haven't got the squad depth to cover for those two losses, let alone all the other injuries we are carrying.
We just have to hope the Madsen injury isn't a bad one. | | | |
