That's good news about Mbia.

Adel needs to forget about his ego and put the team first.

Laughable. Did his very best for the team today. Everything we did went through him, he was all over the pitch, worked his nuts off. Most of the rest of the team hid - played easy backpasses - he takes risks to try and create something - still has the balls to try that. Apart from Mackie, no one else has that.

Hope Mbia is ok though - one of the very few bright spots in another dire performance.

Bare bones.

The thing with AT is he'll make mistakes. But he'll always show for the ball and try to make something happen. Lots of other players out there take the easy option, a 5 yard pass backwards or sideways. He worked hard today.

Sort of agree with you about Adel, definitely worth his place in the team, just that sometimes he needs to get rid of the ball quicker and not hang onto it until the moment is lost.

I thought Adel was not at his best today. He didn't run at anyone today. His passing was a mixture of good and bad but where were the skills.

Boswinga was actually pretty good today. Indeed too many of chances went through him. We were too predictable.

The only player who was awful was Hoilett.

Maybe he would if players showed more for him, he played some real killer passes today, a shame that the recipients weren't up to the same standard. What epitomised Adel's performance more than anything was in the first half, when he misplaced a well intentioned pass, chased back and executed a superb tackle from behind to regain possession. It is a shame that Granero is so off the pace at the moment that Adel has to come so deep at times when he should be in the final third running at defences.

Exactly. People say Adel should release it quicker, but I lost count of the number of occasions he got the ball, looked up and saw Mackie marked by 2 centre backs, SWP hiding behind the closest Villa player he could find to make sure no one would pass to him, and everyone else was behind Adel, even though he was 50 yards from goal. Our movement is an absolute joke.

Bare bones.

Adel & Mackie were the only ones that consistently showed for the ball today, also thought Bosingwa had a decent game going forward.

The touch & first time through ball from Mbia for SWP shot onto the post was top class, we lost control of the game when Mbia & Diakite went off

I dont think Hoilett was that bad. Ineffective yes but the whole team was by that point. A lot of Hoiletts game comes involves cutting in from the left but he was forced to stay out left to give us width. Traore usually bombs down the left but he was knackered as a full 90 minutes is new to him, leaving Junior isolated. I also though when Arry made those changes and put Adel further forward he became significantly less effective. Not showing for passes as much, not roaming around the field as much as he usually does, maybe fatigue, maybe Harrys instructions.

It 'looked' based on my Legoman feed at the time, like he went in to put a bit of a mad challenge on Agbon'sma-is-a-hoare.

Agbon possibly moved his head round a fraction inadvertently putting a vulcan death grip on Mbia's neck. Insane stuff

Going to hospital for no reason when we need to win games...no use to us on a bed in st Mary's. if he'd have broken his neck I could understand.
