Excellent, Jones. I grew up with football in the Czech Republic, then Germany. The only games in my adult life as now in the states, is to fly over and see ColU --Daniel took me to a Spurs game once at the Lane; been twice to Portman because Haps and I went to see ITFC lose. Another time, because of some bizarre connection--too long to explain--I was in Ippy to watch Ipswich v Middlesbrough. One time Haps and I were going to attend Ippy v his beloved Derby, but likely I had drank too much at Bricklayers the night before so it didn't happen (last minute). I never go watch the MLS, even the local DC United. If I'm going to watch proper football, I will fly over and suffer wearing three layers with a bovril at the Weston Homes Community Stadium .. a pint before and a pint at halftime .. and a burger or pie. What a cool link to Matt Slater. And I think I read everything new on the Beeb daily. It's so weird. That in the USA we get every single Premier League game on tv (however many channels it takes via NBC--free) and 2-3 Championship games; Mexico, France, Germany, Spain, South America. You really have to visit the states to see you could be watching footy all day long. There is incredible respect for the beautiful game. | |

I apologize. we even have Nodge v Gooners on talkSport here--and of course on NBC and Sky tv. East Anglia football is royalty here. God help us Yanks if Braintree is promoted. Why do USA networks have such a fixation with East Anglia sides? Wakey wakey Sunshine. [Post edited 29 Nov 2015 17:18]
