The U's continued to knock the ball around without much penetration in the second half, and where fortunate to stay in the tie in the last ten minutes when several decent chances where missed .
A Billericay dicky performance by the U's, Voce probed in midfield, but the forwards failed to penetrate and lack close control on many occasions. Unlike Billericay forward Benjamin who was always a thorn to the back four, scored and led the front line well, but football showing what a cruel game it can be, missed the sudden death spot kick which sent the U 's through.
A feisty game throughout, but especially in the first quater ,the academy based U's younger's might not have been this familiar in the physical aspects at this level.
Surprisingly no cards where shown, so great credit must go to the ref in this feisty encounter.
A slightly harsh, but not much in reserve, was the impression shown, so still much to learn on the learning curve .

What did you think about Vose's contribution, I was not impressed with him at Tranmere.
Really disappointed that we are not figuring in the FA Cup this week especially as the Cambridge game is televised!!!!

Vose. was played in the central playmaker in midfield position, unlike his appearances in the first team which have been in a more wide position. Overall was the U's best player, unlucky with one second half effort. Might be a shade older than the others, the other night, initially signed only for a month, might be worth a second look until the end of the season, but must maintain that standard has regular to gain a contract in future.
Bit confused has to why Bonn did not play, unless injured, and no game at the weekend .
Major worry was apart from Szmodics strike, was the forwards who did not look good enough and if in the final year of contracts, sorry to say, look destined for careers elsewhere . | |
