Here it is folks…the first player link and the season isn’t over yet. Scottish Sun says we’re interested…so it must be true
QPR's first link of the summer is an athletic beast... Not saying I know much about the lad but that sort of athleticism is exactly what I want for at least one of our midfield signings this summer.https://t.co/pgkiWID1ww
I see Dozzell is getting no where near the pitch/squad for Birmingham in the last few games and that useless lump Roberts is on the bench today. I hope they go down.
This thread fills me with dread. I live alone and have had my first dog for the last six years. We spend pretty much every moment of every day with each other. He’s a beautifully natured Cocker and he doesn’t know it but he’s got me through some very tough times.
I’m not sure how or if I’ll cope when he goes. Fortunately, hopefully, it’s still some way off.
The most relaxed I think I’ve ever been watching QPR!
Field my MOTM today.
Good to see Chair and Willock playing close to each other. We look a genuinely different team when they’re feeding off each others. Sad to think that’s the last time the two of them together will grace the pitch at Loftus Rd.
1. Cook. An inspiration, leader and rock in our defensive turnaround. 2. JCS. Come back season after constant injuries was Prem class. 3. Dunne. A Jekyl and Hyde season. Awful in the early part then, Phoenix like, returns playing out of position he solved our rb and corner issues. Cruyf turns…that goal.
I don’t think Cannon was much better than Kakay. Dreadful at corners due to a lack of height which Dunne solved and he offered next to nothing going forward which even Kakay did at times.
At only 20 I’m not overly bothered by his goals to games ratio. No one expects him to be banging in 20 goals a season. It’s his standard of play that I have issues with. Goals will come with a foundation of good technique, judgement and ability. Armstrong appears to have none of those three.
I’ve said it all season; he’s league 2 level at best. Appalling touch, doesn’t hold the ball up (although I accept that’s not his game, he still has to do better) and when he’s got the ball at his feat heading goal wards he gets the ball taken off him because a) he’s predictable b) he cannot protect the ball c) he pushes the ball too far ahead/ goes out of play. This leads to the part of his game that winds me up more than anything else - the histrionic pitch punching when he doesn’t get the decision he wants. He does it to distract from the fact that….he’s gash. I hope the rumours of a new contract are not true. I just don’t see what people see in him.
The extra time save against Birmingham (low hard free kick from edge of box) could be said to be a standard save but those were the ones that Dieng/Lumley/Marshall(shudder) would spill for a tap in by an onrushing forward. On balance I’ve been very happy with Begovic.
I recently heard an argument that footballs VAR should be run a bit more like reviews in Cricket; basically the ref runs the game with no interference from VAR unless the team Capt requests a review on a decision. Each Capt gets a max of two reviews a game. Successful reviews could be retained as per Cricket. This would introduce a tactical element to the game as to whether or not to review and leaves the rest of the game to run as normal. I think it’s not a bad idea in principle.
I’d quite understand that a match involving any team placed 22nd in the table against the team at the bottom would be a rather depressing prospect. The fact the Loftus Road was sold out, the place was rocking and we were fully behind the team (and have been for quite some time now despite deep moments of frustration and anxiety) is pretty remarkable. It’s support like that that lifts a team and contributes to success.
I’d say our support deserves a big pat on the back. Well done everyone.
