Fair play to JS. Didn't occur to me that an approach to this game against a high flying possession dominating team could be to play 442 and just blow them off the park 👌 |

Like Clive said in the preview, we can scrape a decent-ish team together, and if Lloyd is available not the worst option up front in this kind of game. But the bench will be barebones (c) so going to be lacking options there and - god forbid - in the event of more injuries. Agree with posts saying Swansea's position probably flatters them - there was that xG /xPoints table that has them way lower than their current position. We shouldn't be over-awed by any stretch, but a point is still a decent result given the bad vibes from injuries and recent loss. 1-1 Lloyd to score. Edit LoL not even in the squad [Post edited 24 Oct 13:47]

I hope this is taken the right way, but "the stats produced by Padula’s Shampoo" in the middle of a thoughtful and authoritative essay made me laugh Edit: they are genuinely well sourced and compelling data btw [Post edited 24 Oct 0:17]

Bit behind the curve here but finished season 2 of Severance last night. What a show, absolutely brilliant. Takes a decent high-concept conceit and absolutely runs with it, examines it from a few different perspectives. There's just the right level of absurdity sown through it, which hits a crescendo in the final episode. And this is my problem - as much as I loved it, I'm a bit wary about there being a third season. It's hard to imagine how they can go back to 'a day in the office at Lumen' after all the madness of the last episode. And it's hard to imagine how the continue the Mark S and Helly story at this point. I kind of loved the closing shot and the 'we're left to imagine what happens next' nature of it. It actually reminded me a bit of the freezeframe ending of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Superb soundtrack too, iconic - reminds me a bit of Twin Peaks in someways in that it's instantly identifiable. |

3 - 0 to the good guys. Obikwu hat trick. I have foreseen it. |

This is excellent. It helps to cut through the ambiguity around all clubs having injuries, stupid game schedule etc because it clarifies the complaint that we all obviously feel by framing the problem as, regardless the mitigating circumstances, the situation isn't good enough for a club with the stated ambitions we have and are being asked to buy in to - we're failing according to our own terms [Post edited 21 Oct 15:30]

Jesus, just seen this. Part of what makes it so frustrating is that there was broad agreement that our pre IB results were good but against teams that were beatable on paper, and that the real test would be this run of games. But now I'm just not sure how much we know about the potential in the squad because one again it's so depleted by injuries. I suppose there's an argument that that's just football, you never have everyone fit, and if injuries affect your squad so much it's because it lacks depth... Other teams have problems too etc... But even allowing for the players we signed with obvious injury records, we seem to be losing key players at an alarming rate. We're a Edwards injury away from full farce again. |

Cheers dmm, looked forward to this when I first heard about it, but some of the lukewarm reviews - this included! - and the interview Greengrass did with Kermode have dampened my enthusiasm somewhat. |

Thoughts and prayers with Ted and family. A true LFW institution. This place is 50% Clive's extraordinary work, and 50% the posters that are it's life and soul - and Ted is undisputably one of the finest. I've been thinking about that Bale picture, so glad Clive dug it out. Made me laugh so much at the time. |
