Twenty years ago (doesn't feel that long) we were playing them at Wembley,, in August they'll be playing regional football.

JMcG has already said he wants to add to the squad but that plyers will have to leave first so who follows Kabamba and Odelusi out?

I think Hanlan will go back and I also have a sneaking suspicion that the Reid loan won't be extended. I wonder also if Craig Slater, who appears to have slipped down the pecking order, might go in order to keep Comley although this would be a big mistake in my opinion.
World Cup Draw
at 16:12 1 Dec 2017

Alright, I know this is England so the chances of bollocksing it up are good but Belgium, Tunisia and Panama is a pretty benevolent draw. With one of Poland, Senegal, Colombia or Japan in the last 16 they really ought to make the quarters. Of course, thats when they lose to a good side.

That really is a horrible colour. Guessing the suppliers have let us have it cheap beacause nobody else wanted it.

The Playoffs : last day
at 10:01 30 Apr 2017

Mathematically there are two places left. Realistically, Blackpoolbhave one sewn up with their final game at home to Orient.

Carlisle go to Exeter. On current form this is a home win but much depends on how Exeter approach it. Carlisle's inferior GD means a point probably won't be enough.

Stevenage have a tricky home game against Accrington which they will need to win.

Cambridge and Wycombe play each other both needing a win. Lets hope for a draw, won't we all laugh when they both miss out.

Mansfield play Crawley and will probably fancy that they'll get the win they want but have they got too much ground to make up?

We'll beat Yeovil (!).

To quote the legendary Brian Moore "its up for grabs now".

...for Blackburn's Shane Duffy who I signed for Colchester on FM10 a few years back. Two own goals and got sent off. That probably counts as a 'mare.

Heybridge Swifts 0 Colchester United 8
at 17:56 11 Jul 2015

Forsaking an afternoon in front of the cricket, I've made my annual pilgrimage to Scraley Road on a very pleasant afternoon to watch a game of football but probably a less pleasant one for playing it. Notable absentees from the squad were George Elokobi and Sam Walker but otherwise it was all present and correct with welcome returns from injury for Tosin Olufemi, Frankie Kent and Drey Wright. Walker's place was taken by triallist keeper Elliot Parrish and there was also a place for another triallist, Olly Lee.

The Us fielded two different sides with Porter captaining the first half and Gilby the second. First half side started slowly and might have gone 1-0 down but for a sharp save by Lewington diving to his right, however, goals from Porter (a far post tap in after good work down the right by Sembie-Ferris and a penalty after Holman was felled), Lee (a tap in) and Moncur (on the volley from just outside the box) meant the Us were comfortably in control going into the break.

Second half side, which included new signing Joe Edwards) didn't let up. Two fine goals from Wright, a tap in from Bonne and a sweet lob from Szmodics wrapping the game up. It could have been more with Briggs in particular not afriad to shoot from distance - expect him to get a couple this season.

George Elokobi.....

Winter World Cup

For my money, any decision that appears to upset Scudamore and the Greed League quite so much has to have some merit in it.

Presumably the down side is that they'll find some way to use the fall out from it to screw the league and the pyramid some more.
another one bites the dust
at 16:07 2 Dec 2014

Dominic Vose has had the two year contract he signed in May cancelled by mutual consent and has left the club.

Early promise never really developed into anything more tangible and lack of pace has probably got him found out in the new regime. That or at 21 years old and with 30 odd games under his belt he's too old and experienced for our squad.
