Lord, you would think Lyndon was Taylor Richards the way this thread is going on. Sure, he's not a great player, but he's ours, always gives his all and I think all this derogatory stuff is somewhat unfair. As if he was going to rip up the Euros anyway. Get better soon Lyndon. |

Great article that, what about this for a line: "Veteran midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is in temporary charge, while Terry Venables and ex-Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini are being touted as successors to Dowie." Blimey. |

So would I, and I am normally very reluctant to put any player, Taarabt included, in legend status who never performed for us in the top league. However, he has gone on to do so with Palace, and for me his general behaviour towards QPR throughout has been nothing short of exemplary and really unusual these days. Just shows that fans will be fair if their club is treated with respect. It is very unusual for me to want any ex-R to do that well but with Ebere it is different for these reasons. And, of course, if he can give us another windfall would be lovely. |

To be fair, I reckon I could get 200 against our current bowling line up. We've been weak in that department for years, but throw in a couple of injuries and this season it is an embarrassment. Your boys on a totally different level. Doomed. |

My predictions are terrible, but I can envisage Rooney not being an absolute disaster at Plymouth. I suspect they will get behind him, the pressure will be off a little, and to be fair his job at Derby wasn't that bad in the circumstances. This will be the first time he is in a balanced position, can sign a player.....I wouldn't be surprised if he does OK. Crazy thoughts, I know. Chelsea going after the Leicester manager on the other hand, my lord. I could have managed that Leicester squad to winning the league. I am not sure what that proves. I'm a little surprised Sheff Utd are 16/1. Any club coming down shouldn't be that big, as we all know, and Wilder is proven to do well there. [Post edited 27 May 15:55]

He didn't look too mobile behind the sticks, either, unsurprisingly. Amazed if Gary Kirsten lets that fly. Just gives a shoddy perception of the side all round. How can you play sport for your country if you are not fit? |

Fantastic work again, Clive, thanks. I couldn't agree more on the bit about Sinclair where sometimes you think there is a phenomenal talent and sometimes you wonder why you ever thought that. I keep thinking back to Les early days, and hoping. I would be loathe to lose him because I just fear there is some sort of chance he could turn into a fantastic player if something clicks. Well, a lot of things. |

I see that Burnley are allegedly trying to get £17m compensation from Bayern for Kompany. I really hope Nourry is sorting a similar compensation clause. |

Wasn't it quite a bad day weather wise? Lashed it down? Then....towards the end of the second half the sun came out. And, finally, we had our day in the sun. |

Yeah I have major issues with our politics. In the absence of a young tyro-type like Blair / whoever to inspire, I can't see how our politics system is moving forward. We want the best minds to run the country, but if you were a young genius right now, why exactly would you want to get into politics? > MPs don't get paid enough to attract the best talent (or the problem then of the independently wealthy simply getting into it for the power) > every single time an MP of any party is interviewed (pet hate of mine this - they are automatically treated as a liar, charlatan, tested and tricked by the interviewer rather than let them get their point across. I know some MPs are charlatans and do deserve this, but the rest don't) > maybe because of the above it's getting ever more dangerous > For me, this all skews opinions on them. Personally I thought May was a dreadful PM, yet her work since leaving the job shows - whatever you think of her politics - that she generally does want to serve the people. Always telling when an ex-PM works just as hard on the backbenches afterwards I think. I know there are good people who want to "serve the people" and "change the world", but we still need our brightest minds running our country. I can't see how our system encourages that. |

You can debate without being rude and tiresome, you know. In my opinion, having stood / sat and watched them play for the hoops many times, they were rubbish for us. Obviously you beg to differ, that's fine. |

Crazy. Very funny indeed. Also find it hard to dislike Poch so glad he has left that cesspit. Thoughts with Asmir at this time #prayforBego |

I like to think that he conducts himself so well, that if he was to go to Palace and be straightforward and say "if a big club comes in, I would want to talk to them" that Palace would be receptive. After all, they will no doubt want to cash in on their asset at some point. Plus it could be an indication that he would run down his contract (fair way to go though). Oh, I dunno. Just give us £10m!!! |
| Forum Reply | Eze Rumours at 09:05 21 May 2024
Much as I love Eze, my priority is with the R's and I have a hunch that if he doesn't get picked in the squad he is much more likely to want to move in the summer? Total evidence that if you play for a bigger club you have more chance of England. He's 26, clock's a-ticking. |
| Forum Reply | Southgate’s replacement. at 22:04 20 May 2024
It's not laughable, it's just an opinion that is different to yours. You could argue that Pep has even more riches on the bench that Southgate ever has in order to change things up. |
| Forum Reply | Southgate’s replacement. at 15:11 20 May 2024
Now that's very true. Give it to Ainsworth, he's got nothing on and would be cheap for the FA. "Just a privilege to be in the same group as Slovenia" "Someone always loses 4-0 in the first group game and I hope it isn't us" "Foden, Bellingham, Saka have all been dropped as they didn't buy into my Haka exercise. I can always tell who wants to be with me. So I am building the team around Hendo." "I've beefed up our long throw planning as that will be crucial. One of them may reach the six yard box and that could make all the difference." Mind you, the FA gave the job to Allardyce so perhaps I should not jest too much. |
| Forum Reply | Southgate’s replacement. at 14:55 20 May 2024
Steve Cooper would be perfect. He's been practicing at Forest for years choosing from a pool of thousands of players. The only issue will be when someone tells him its only English players he can call up, not anyone from anywhere in the entire world. Think he would prefer the Welsh job, somehow, though. |

Or the 1990s, Leeds away, Wegerle game. Wilkins scores a screamer....jog back to the halfway line and a handshake. My word. |

I admire your generous bonhomie but personally I couldn't care less if the sale of Eze leads to Palace going to the non-league, as long as it meant a few more quid in Marti's war chest. [Post edited 20 May 10:59]

I don't think it's the same as Zaha, where he was literally the be all and end all of their side. Now they have Matata and Olise so if they get a bumper offer for 1 of the 3 I think there is a fair chance they will take it. Hardly going to rip their team apart and they need to rebuild their ground. Come on Pep, liven up your last season. Or Ange. Or....anyone really, except Pochettino. |
