I just looked through the squad in that Millwall team. One of them is playing Scottish Championship, one plays for Hartlepool, the rest are non league. Millwall had a gem in a sea of crap and still missed it.
Talking of Blackburn, how can Blackburn be expected to win at home to playoff chasing Coventry and also away at Leicester who potentially want to win at home in front of their own fans to seal league title. The only hope for Blackburn is if Coventry's heads have gone after yesterday or they lose to Hull on Wednesday.
I'm probably the most pessimistic person on the planet but we're not going down. We're not getting another point this season and we're not going down. The teams below us have shown no signs they are capable of winning the games they have so I doubt they are going to change now. It's going to take a monumental swing in fortunes for us to go down.
I don't think we will get another point but I don't think we need another point.
Birmingham need 4 points from Huddersfield away and needing momentum for Playoffs Norwich (4 points would come down to goal difference so ideally for them they would need 2 wins)
Sheffield Wednesday also need 4 points (3 won't do it due to goal difference) from home to momentum needing West Brom and away to Sunderland.
Huddersfield need miracles. Plymouth and Blackburn both have tough remaining fixtures. It's possible for us to get relegated but it will take a lot.
I thought he also looked decent but if you look at the statistics/ratings he was actually ranked the worst player of the game. Maybe he was marked down for the awful miss in the first half.
I am sure you all know this anyway, but just in case...FA Cup gate receipts are split 45/45 between clubs with the FA getting 10%. Sometimes it's more valuable for a lower league team to be playing away in a bigger stadium.
It's not just the Premier League that suffers from fixture congestion, lower levels also have the same issues. While a replay can be great for a lower league teams it can also be a pain for them.
Yes we're losing a tradition but I am sure in 5-10 years people won't care.
I've fixed your 3rd paragraph for you based on recent games.
"Secondly, and on a purely personal level, he's becoming increasingly predictable: get ball, dribble to edge of box, ignore overlapping runner, cut in on the right foot, edge of box, shoot on angle, ball goes into orbit, rinse, repeat up to 20 times per match. If I can see it, then of course our oppo has prepped for it. We either adapt or die."
The first game after his news I thought he played well, since then he has been really off the boil. He is without a goal or assist in 7 games. We really need more from our most creative player.
I would sell, we're a club that needs money, we're a club that needs to sell players when they reach value so we can reinvest that money. Unfortunately the last few years we wait too long before we sell. But I don't think anyone will buy him unless his case gets resolved.
Of course Begovic was at fault for the goal but the corner they scored from came from a very good save from him in the first place. An absolute rocket from the £1 million Plymouth right back (ahhh to have money to sign a player, those were the days).
He's not a perfect keeper but for a FREE signing he will do. Only 4 more games left with him and then we can go find another free goalkeeper because they are quite easy to find. Joe Lumley anyone?
I was very young but I seem to remember being part of a mass pitch invasion at Loftus Road when we finished top team in London. I think we played Sheffield Wednesday?
The thing I don't understand with Dykes is, it's the Euros this summer so I would have thought he would be trying extra hard to score in order to get into the team. It shows how bad Scotland are that he can still get in the squad. I've been a fan of Dykes but I'm starting to come around to the general consensus that he's just not very good for us.
You are bringing attacking midfielders and wingers to a discussion about strikers. If you are going there then yes, the likes of Chair and Willock should have scored more goals this season.
That was so annoying that they missed the Jimmy Dunne goal. They were busy showing the Birmingham highlight, next second the ball was in the back of the net. Fuming and ecstatic at the same time
I just had a look at strikers or forwards in the Championship who have scored more than 10 goals this season. Yes you can potentially pick up bargains but the likely you're going to need to spend big.
