Had to delay my travel due to "death certificate issues" will be over there for at least a week or so, but got a ticket i can change if needs be. I could catch a ColU game for the 1st time this season while i'm over, but won't as it just doesn't seem right and will be busy sorting stuff out. 1-1s - who knows and to be honest who cares at the moment, bigger more important things to think about and do. |

So Basically TH is the new Alex Ferguson!! - Maybe if he had the same level of support and budget but i still doubt he'd get close! The best staff do leave all the smaller companies to get better paid jobs at bigger firms, so thats that one blown out the water as well! How long would TH last in sales with his current track record? I doubt he'd stay at a telesales job for this long!!! |

I never wanted Ward or Dunne, i've never been one for promote from within (unless you already have a system that has been working well, which we never have!) If you were in business and you weren't doing a good enough job, would your boss keep you on just because it was the wrong time of year? - NO, and football (wether we like it or not is a business nowadays and has no room for sentiment. My choice of Big Roy is not one of sentiment either. As you have said, we are outside the transfer window and the emergency loan period give most clubs little or no options, therefore we already have what we can work with, and I have seen nothing so far to prove to me that TH is the man for the job. He has recently been quoted as saying that'the players need to find belief', which i find a pretty incredible statement, as Man Management is all about giving your staff (in any job) the confidence and belief to be as good (or even better) as their potential, thus resulting in a better overall team performance. This is where Big Roy would come into his element. In the dark days of the Conference, we never had money or the best players, but we had a TEAM, and one that thrived on the confidence instilled in it by the manager, to be the very best it could. I know the game has moved on from then, but the parts of the game that have changed (Nutrition, Psychology, Health, Injury Management etc) can be doen by other support staff with the relevant skills, and i'm sure TH isn't doing it all by himself right now! So not Nostalgia, not Sentiment, but the man with the right skills for the Job in hand. |

Someone needs to start a campaign/protest at the next couple of home games and the STH Fans Forum to make Mr Cowling sit up and take notice. I'd do it if i wasn't in the US, anyone interested? Theres currently a Facebook 'Bin Tony Humes & Bring Back Roy McDonough' Community/group set up, but i think we need more direct, press worthy, action before its too late. |
