I think us having 5 bowlers out injured doesnt help and the last 2 matches we had 2 bowlers down in the 1st and 1 bowler down (very first session) in the 2nd. Too much pressure on the batsmen when they look at the scoreboard and have to follow on for the umpteenth time. I think the T20 break for which we generally do well in will help us reset and rebuild confidence. Then we are at home to Lancs when a certain Jimmy Anderson will apparently be playing so we need to get a result from that game. Still think we have enough about us to avoid relegation - Feeling of Deja-Vue with cricket AND Football |

Only just seen this Ned and I 100% agree with you - But, this is Southgate we are talking about and he is not renowned for a) gambles and b) breaking away from what he knows. I hope that you get a 'told you so' moment, but knowing Southgate I fear the worst. |

Several of us thought they were a well run club, but got this from discussing with a Plymouth fan on another forum: They say well run, but that rhetoric is starting to rattle more and more people, mostly around capacity. Every home league game the past two seasons has sold out, this season, every single game including league and FA Cups have also sold out, currently have close to 4.5K and still growing on the ST waiting list and there's no plans currently to increase capacity, yet they've thrown significant money at the Brickfields project for the woman's team. They've also just bought and evicted a supporters group from the Green Tavern (which they funded and built themselves) so they can turn it into more corporate, and as a result of that they've just evicted 300 ST holders from the lower Mayflower to make room for extended corporate offering, so again that's 300 less seats available in the rest stadium now to start making a dent in the ST waiting list. The loss of Schumacher last season was down to Hallett not supporting him and taking him for granted, and then the reckless decision to hire somebody with absolutely no league experience purely because he was the cheapest option on the table. We seriously hoped the Foster debacle was a wake up call for Hallett, but obviously not after the Rooney appointment |

100% I have a friend in SA and she said they just didnt want her and her wife in the team together, amongst other things - Politics in sport etc, quota's |

When you think that SA women ousted Dane Van Niekerk for her weight, I am pretty damn sure she would beat this guy [Post edited 26 May 18:50]

To confirm what Bazz has said here, a friend of mine from cricket is good friends with an MP who announced he was standing down this week and not seeking re-election. One of the first things that was said was and I quote: 'Well he is on plenty of committees so he should get something off the back of that so he'll be better off anyway' Another job where you get rewarded from being sh1t at your job - Like a football manager!! |

Over the moon for him, but I don't expect to see him make the final cut. His time will be in 2 years. The training camp in itself will do him the world of good. My Palarse mates love him If Palace keep him and Olise they will be fighting for a European spot next season. |

Would have been a brave man to stop that fight bearing in mind the importance of the fight Look at Michael Masi when he bent the rules in the F1 to create a spectacle. He and his family are still living under the fear of death threats etc because of his stupid decision. |

Can we really not let that go? So petty and tedious |

Unfortunately for Jamie Smith, (who btw I think is better than Foakes) is upcoming with the likes of Ollie Robinson at Durham (former Kent and gutted we let him go) and James Rew at Somerset. All 3 are excellent keepers and very useful with the bat. Of course, Jamie has the edge because he plays for Slurrey |

So Jack Leaning has taken a knock on the hand which is a shame as he started to hit form and he is an excellent fielder and part time bowler so a huge miss. Wes Agar is also struggling for fitness, and was considered unlikely to make 4 days. Of course, we are controlled by Australian cricket where he is concerned so has not been risked, but some of the Kent CC members are almost child like in their conspiracy theories and venom towards the management. Deebs is having a superb season. Top 3 in the scoring and as a captain doing a great job too. I love the guy, so down to earth and Kent through and through. Denly oddly enough opened the season with a century against none other than Somerset. (I went down there on the day both he and Deebs scored a century to secure a draw). Need the same from JD today Just very annoying that this huge score in the 2nd innings will count for nothing unless we secure a draw. |

I appreciate I am biased, but considering the circumstances, Zak Crawleys knock of 238 off 267 balls today was nothing short of superb |

So to confirm: Toilet Roll has to be front loading - Missus doesn't care and she ALWAYS leaves the empty roll behind Towel chucked on the rail not folded drives me nuts too People driving with their fog lights on Middle Lane hogs - I just cruise past in the left lane shaking my head. Not wasting my petrol on driving the long way round them People who refuse to merge in turn as a lane closes I never look at the league table till after the final whistle - Brings bad luck for me And sorry Norf... I get on the bus for two stops because I am f**ked if I am walking up the hill (Plus its free anyway!!) |

For me, what I like to see is the fact that most ex first team players are being given a proper send off rather than just being part of a lengthy list as we have done in the past - So thats a positive |
| Forum Reply | Championship Playoffs - who's going up? at 13:06 9 May 2024
I hope West Brom go up for 3 reasons: Darnel Furlong - One of our own in my opinion The fact their supporters were so honest and admitted we steamrollered them on Stan Bowles Night They are not Leeds |

For me, the home support has been superb, but the people who really deserve a pat on the back is the many away supporters (of which I know you are one Dave) that have travelled miles around the country all whilst the team was playing properly sh1t So for me they are the real heroes |
