If it’s not all-ticket it’s the sort of game people not intending to go would duck out of work early for. Will guess about 1800 with an extra 200 in the unlikely event we win on Saturday.
Not worth a new thread but Celtic have a guy called Yang on the wing and Reo Hatate. Quite a few Japanese/Korean players in our league and almost all of them are small-ish wide players or ‘10s’. Bae Jun Ho at Stoke, the other Yang we had, Morashita, Ohashi, Sakamoto.
A bit more varied in the Prem but there’s Mitoma and Palace’s Kamada.
Probably of no interest to anyone but me. Maybe they over-index in producing that sort of player or British clubs don’t fancy others with a couple of exceptions in the Prem.
I guess there’s the fun job of doing it manually by seeing who we played in the double weeks e.g. Hull and Plymouth and then checking their double weeks.
I think actually a bigger issue is now that they move half the games to the Wednesday so whether home or away you’ve got two days off against an opponent with three. When I briefly worked in the gambling industry it played a quite big part in the odds-compiling. More so in obscure countries or lower leagues but still a factor.
I know it’s not an original gripe but has there been big inflation in weekend train prices? Anything north of Milton Keynes from London (plus the £16 or so to get to London and back for me) seems to have gone nuts even when looking for away games a few weeks in advance.
Wonder if he fancies a bit of Sheff Wed from next season. Unless he’s next on the Watford list of doom I don’t see who he’d want to go to that would have him in our league.
Only just recovered from last season’s game there so good luck to those making the trip. Once a decade at the ‘current sponsor’s name’ stadium will do me. Alfie Lloyd’s finest hour.
The cavalry will be back in April to help us to some surprising wins when too far back for it to matter and get people optimistic for next season before the cycle continues. Forever.
If you wanted some football as part of it Valencia are at home a couple of times in May and next season is the last at the Mestalla which I’d like to tick off while I can. Good city, good beaches, not cheap but cheaper than Barca generally.
Also last day of May is the final day of the Spanish second division which could quite possibly be a historic day for Castellón, not far by train from Valencia and cheap as chips for drinks. A gamble but if they go up it’ll be like a carnival for a week.
Nothing like that at the Lower Loft entrance thankfully.
Surprised proper checks aren’t more common or even mandatory nowadays for something serious rather than making sure you don’t bring a bottle cap in. Always thought a lowkey football match would be an easy target for a terror attack.
Still a believer in Morgan but JS doesn’t seem to fancy him. The midfield has been tragic for most of the season and he’s barely had a chance. Yesterday was probably a game to have him in for Hayden which means we will bring him in for Hayden at Hull and get steamrollered.
Might have to throw him in for Madsen if he needs a game or two out. God help us.
Is Varane ever coming back from this injury or is he just hidden away seeing it out until escaping to France?
Felt despite there being 100 better reasons we lost the ref and assistant on the Ellerslie side had bizarre games. But as a player you have to be aware of that and not dive in if it’s a ref who is going to be all over that or leave a bit on them (as their guy did with Madsen) if you can. Surprised in 2026 that was allowed though 10 years ago it would have no question been a great tackle.
Kone is bad for it. Defender going nowhere and he puts a hand that wouldn’t knock a small child over on his shoulder. You know the linesman will give it because they always do and you’re getting no advantage there by doing it.
Someone do correct me if I’m wrong as I haven’t looked back but I’m sure early in the season JS was more aggressive with subs when things weren’t looking good. You’ve got five to play with and it was obvious Bennie had no place being out there after HT. Not the kid’s fault but he wasn’t up to it and an adult was required even with few options. Probably would have made them slightly earlier had the knocks to Kone and Madsen not come (God help us if NM is injured now) but he seems more and more reluctant to change games we aren’t winning nor looking like scoring.
Not an XI you pick at home to a struggling side. That was an XI for Hull or Southampton away. Tragically poor with the ball and didn’t get bailed out by the defence for once.
Has to be a mentality thing to put in the worst performances of the season every time there’s a slight glimmer of hope of scraping sixth. Injuries, fitness, tactics and all the rest play a part but really Blackburn just fancied it more today and had the best player on the pitch on the day by a mile in Morashita.
I’d have had Kolli and Smyth in for a home game. Perhaps erred towards Bennie away. Expect they’ll both come on. Big chance for him anyway and for Saito.
We’ll draw every away game 0-0 and scrape a win in every home match to finish sixth. Then do the same in the playoff semi. Then draw the final 0-0 after extra time followed by a penalty shootout neither team score in for eternity. Wembley goes bust as events have to be cancelled. Steve Cook dies of old age on the pitch after missing his 168th attempt. The 2026/27 season is in disarray as QPR and Coventry are still taking penalties heading into August.
It should be. Feel like what he’s being asked to do is over-complicated. Stick him on the right. Tell him to run forwards with the ball when he has it and run backwards when we don’t have it. Simple but effective when he’s asked to do a couple of jobs well rather than lots of things that aren’t his forte.
