What a weekend of Games we had last week. The niners and Giants showing that Defence still matters by slowing the offences that have all season blown teams away in the NFC whilst the patriots showed Tebowmania has alot of improvements are needed and the ravens showed their defence is still to be feared.

Well that was an interesting weekend with all 4 home teams winning their games leaving just the 8 division champions to fight their way to Indianapolis.
AFC
Cinncinatti Bengals 10 @ Houston Texans 31 The Texans get a win in their first ever Playoff game. Rookie DE JJ Watt (Hou) had the game changing interception for a TD when the scores were tied at 10-10 after that the Bengals never looked the same and struggled offensively, whilst Houston relied on the swift feet of Arian Foster (153yds off 24 carries) to see them home to their Win and a game against the Ravens.
Pittsburgh Steelers 23 @ Denver Broncos 29 OT A Banged up steelers team lost out to Tebow Magic in the most surprising result of the Weekend. After a first Quarter where he Threw for just 8 yards tebow went on a big play offensive throwing for 308 yrds (316 total= the most passing yards the steelers have given up all season) off just 9 completed plays including an 80yd TD pass and run to D Thomas on the first snap of OT to send the Broncos to face the Patriots who beat up on them a few weeks back.

Detroit Lions 28 @ New Orleans Saints 45 The Lions Scored a TD in each of the Qtrs but it was not enough to stand up to the Saints offensive machine that put up 6 TDs and 626 offensive yards to set up a game with the 49ers on Saturday
Atlanta Falcons 2 @ New York Giants 24 The Giants are starting to click. Their Defence gave up 0 pints on sunday with the falcons only score being a safety and their offence is starting to be efficient. The Falcons Struggled outside of their dome and giants go and face the Packers.

With THE NET all but locking up the title this year holding a 7 point lead over MFB_cufc and MAttcufc this season is coming down to its conclusion. With everyone picking the saints for the final game last week the table wont change to much other than points totals before this wks games. Just a quick word on how i will do the playoffs where there is another £10 voucher up for grabs for the winner.
It will be a league again with every body picking the winners of each of the games. the points for each weekend will be as follows.
In the Wildcard weekend the games will be worth 2 points each
The Divisional Weekend the games will be 4points each
Conference week the games will be 8 points each.
Pro bowl, where we will just have to pick a winner for 4 points
The superbowl game will be worth 16 points
On top of that there will be 4 bonus points available for the following questions each week.
Wildcard: Top scoring team
Divisional: Which team will throw for the most yards
Conference: Which team will rush for the most yards
Pro bowl: total number of TD's scored in the preseason muck around for the best players in the lg. (will be in bands of 2 (so 0-1,2-3 etc)
Super Bowl: total number of TD's in game (Done Same as probowl), Total Number of passing yards in the game and total number of rushing yards in the game.
I will give stats out for the teams that make it to the superbowl so you can get an idea as to where it will be.
Im hoping that the way i have done the points it will give people a chance to stay in contention until the superbowl and make a big call and still win the prize.

Well what a horrible week week 7 was a combined record of 39-79 for the league. My 5-4 record top scored with 3 players going 4-5. We had two players not pick this week and one person go 0-9 with someone else going 1-8. For the 2nd week on the trot no one picked up the bonus point. Hopefully its time to kick start again and pick some winners

Right firstly an apology, last week i made a bit of a cock up when doing the results and therefore a few peoples results and standings might change. I'm going to double check everyone's results since the start of the competition as I just want to check there were no other mistakes in my spread sheet. Well an interesting week with a number of 4th qtr comebacks that changed the look of the results for many players. Wetherby Whaler is the new Leader and also this weeks top scorer with an impressive 7-2 and 10 points. Myself and RSCOSWORTH also went 7-2 with 9 and 8 points respectively. 4 players went 6-3 picking up 8 points in the process . Well an excellent week for Tinjake and TheNet who both went 8-1 with Tinjake picking up all the 2 pointers to edge ahead of TheNet. Gerryu's also had a good week at the 2 pointers picking up all 3 correct to get him 9 points and keep him in touch with durham exile and ManUtdColUtd who both went 7-2 for 9 points.

Welcome everyone to the new season of the Prediction League.
Obviously i am now in control of the Lg and will do my best to keep it all nice and tidy, If anyone fancies having a go at selecting the games any week let me know and i will look to facilitate them.
So Just a reminder for everyone. There will be 6 games worth 1 pt and 2 games worth 2 points. All you need do is pick the winner. There will be a bonus 2 points available for everyone who picks which team out of the selected games will score the most points.

Im hoping this sort of bonus points question will simplify it. All you have to do is pick a name out of the hat and hope you get it right. It will also be the same every week so as not to confuse people who dont know much about the sport.
