| Forum Reply | Should Russell Martin Put Out Another Reserve Side For Leeds United Trip at 15:16 1 May 2024
We should put out a complete reserve side, with no first team players if possible. For us, the game, as was the game against Stoke, is totally irrelevant. As for Leeds, they have a miniscule chance of making 2nd Place. For that to happen, Ipswich must LOSE to Huddersfield, and Leeds beat us, going 2nd on goal difference above Ipswich. That ain't going to happen, but Farke must put out a strong side on the slim off chance that Ipswich lose. We owe nothing to anybody or any League. We must protect our First Team Players. { It would be a shame should any Leeds first team player pick up an injury, in their futile attempt to finish 2nd } As for our First Team, it must be as follows. Macca, KWP at Right Back, THB, and Jan Centre halves, with Manning at Left Back. ( He's Hobsons Choice, but was successful in the 25 game unbeaten run } I would pick Captain Jack, alongside Downes, as two to play in front of our back 4, to prevent attackers getting through, and cover any gaps created during the game. Two Midfield to be Joe Aribo, and Ryan Fraser. Arma could also drop back to make a strong attacking midfield. Up front, if the 'injured' Ross is still not fit, then Che Adams up front. Very able Subs to bring on if necessary, Rothwell, Brooks, Charles, and Smallbones, and possibly Edozie. These Players will WIN us The Play Offs. The problem is RM's Game Management. How many times has he subbed, and made our capabilities worse ? These Play Off Games are different to anything most of our squad will have gone through. RM's experience of winning The Play offs should stand us in good stead. These Games are 'Do or Die'. It's no good coming off at the end saying "But we had 60-70 % possession". Tippy Tappy, and Possession football means 'Rock All', if the other team has scored 5 Goals. The Players I've listed will win us the Play Offs. Now, as to our Opponents. 5th At the moment it's Norwich, a very dangerous Opponent. I;ve a sneaky that Birmingham will have a right go at beating them, to avoid relegation. In their efforts, the game could be drawn, leaving Norwich on 73 or74 Pts. WBA are at home to Preston, who went to the Beach weeks ago. I expect WBA to beat them and finish 5th with 75pts. Let's hope so anyway. Just keep our First Teamers Fit and Injury Free, and we'll do this In the meantime 'May 4th be with you' and have a happy May 26th |

For me, Mick was our greatest ever Player. yeh, I know he went to City, and even played for Pompey didn't he He's best summed up in an interview given in the dressing room after the 1976 Semi Final - " We've got here, now let's go on and bloody Win it" He did, and we did. |
| Forum Thread | And then there were 3, or are there ? at 14:44 28 Mar 2024
Football returns tomorrow. RM states that we've already been written off, in the race for automatic promotion. The Fat Lady hasn't quite started singing yet, though she is loosening up her tonsils. We need to ignore the noise surrounding the current top 3, and concentrate on our own games. It will definitely be a difficult ask to make the autos, but if RM applies the right team selections from the start, in every game, who knows where we'll end up. Given the dreadful season last year, I didn't expect to be anywhere near the playoffs, let alone the autos, this season. Credit RM in getting us so far, where play offs at least, is within our reach. We have around 9 Top Players that should start most games, or certainly the majority of them. KWP, THB, Bednarek, Flynn Downes, Stu Armstrong, Ryan Fraser, David Brooks, Adam Armstrong, and Che Adams. Second tier Players, Joe Rothwell, Stephens, Aribo, Smallbone, Edoze, Charles, and Mara could always sub on to 'rest' the top players. It's all to do with mindset. Play with an attacking intent. 80% Possession means 'rock all' if we don't score ONE more Goal than the opposition. We need to start our strongest team v Middlesboro' and especially Ipswich, in our first two games back. Win these two games to send out a signal that there is a 4th Team in the fight for the autos. Cut out giving away goals as we've done recently. Don't get caught with the ball when close to our Goal Area, affording the opposition an easy chance to score. What will be will be. A nail biting season end is incoming. UTS |

Perhaps, on seeing the Team Selection, they sat shell shocked at the realisation they'd spent a fortune on Match Fees, Food, Travel, knowing they were going to get home very early next morning, only to see a Reserve Side put out. Just Saying Like. |

'Suicide Defending', as I've seen it called, is not just a problem for us. Chelsea gave an horrendous goal to Leeds last night, with the goalie tip tap passing in the goal area at a goal kick. A Leeds player took the ball from a Chelsea defender, and Leeds scored an easy goal. Brighton were prone to 'Suicide Defending' under Potter a couple of seasons ago. Similarly, Bazuna has gifted several goals to the opposition this season. Try switching it up from time to time, and Hoof the K'in Ball upfield occasionally. { sorry, pass the ball forward, as I've also seen it called. It does work. The City Goalkeeper has been known to get an 'Assist' when playing long ball to his forwards, bypassing the midfield.} |
| Forum Thread | Does Nathan Jones have Mental Health Issues ? at 10:13 6 Feb 2023
Just popped back for a look on the good ol' TUI Site. I agree with every Post on the need to be rid of Jones. Rasmus Ankerson has made a Big Mistake in appointing Jones as Ralph's replacement. It was done very quickly after Ralph left, suggesting that The Club had Jones lined up already. Really, - Really, - can you believe how we've been suckered into taking him on? Think of Ali Dia the 'Non' Footballer, then Jones is the 'Non' Manager. SIX Defeats in 7 League Games is definitely Relegation form. Every time I hear him speak, it's 'I', 'Me' from him. He's telling us that his record is one of the best in Europe, FFS. The Man is a Fraud. He has caused untold damage to our Club. If we don't 'Move him on' immediately, we will be relegated this season. He has zero personality, ( Yes, I know that's not a prerequisite to being a good Manager ), and has obviously 'upset' quite a few Players and Staff. He is delusional at best, deranged at worst. He is clearly out of his depth as a Premier League Manager. Put him out of his, and our Misery, by sacking him today. We have a limited time, 17 Games, with some very difficult fixtures amongst those, to save our Premier League position. Mr Ankerson, do it today. |

No Point. Let's just concentrate on getting some points from our last 6 Games. Super League is not likely to bother us, any time soon. |

A Four Goal Win for Wolves would nicely. |
| Forum Reply | Ryan Bertrand Nearing Return at 13:22 6 Feb 2019
Nearing Return, GOOD NEWS. We need England’s Best Left Back, playing regularly in The First Team. If he can be utilised by Ralph, for the benefit of The Team, in another position, that’s good as well. Just get him back playing. He will definitely make all the difference for us. |

JRM is my Favourite Politician at the moment. Yes, the video takes the piss out of him, but even he agrees that it is funny. Lighten Up. He's not offended, so why should we be. Very Funny, and clever editing. |
| Forum Reply | My personal take on yesterday's game. at 10:21 4 Feb 2019
Good Post. I would have taken a Point BEFORE Kick Off, but at the end 1pt wasn't reward for the Game. It should have been 3pts. Mind you, the Game against Palace I gratefully accepted 1pt, as we were lucky to get it. The Game against Cardiff really is a MUST WIN Game.No excuses. Just Win, any way we can. A draw would not be acceptable. A defeat would be disastrous. Three to go down will come from Teams currently 13th - 20th. I can see Burnley, Newcastle, & Palace being OK. Brighton could falter. I can also see us being OK as well, though don't look for higher than 13th. 13th would be great finish, given the last two years. So, by my reckoning, THREE from Brighton, Cardiff, Fulham, & Huddersfield to Go Down. We play all four of these Teams in our run in. Cardiff & Fulham are MUST WIN Games, in my view. The Brighton Game is a MUST NOT LOSE Game. Huddersfield will already be Relegated by the last Game of the Season, and hopefully, a Carnival Atmosphere at St. Mary's will be enjoyed. |
