The Summer Transfer Window 10:19 - Apr 26 with 6850 viewsspell_chekker

We're being linked to Forest Green midfielder Ebou Adams.

We were reported to be after him in the January window.

It makes sense. It's a position we need strengthen so go after the best player from the best team in L2.

I'd say this rumour's got legs but Cardiff are supposedly in for him too. They're capable of paying silly money.

Bange out on loan.

Bowler still unconfirmed.

Nothing else happening at the moment.

It's a weird one to go along with the rest of this transfer window.

Callum Wright signs from Leicester and Zak Emmerson from Brighton

Blackpool have signed Callum Wright from Leicester City and Zak Emmerson from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The pair have both joined for undisclosed fees on three-year deals, with the option of a further year.

Wright, 22, never played a senior game for the Foxes but the midfielder played 54 times across two loan spells at Cheltenham Town and scored 13 goals.

Emmerson, 18, spent last season on loan in Blackpool's youth team, scoring 20 goals in 26 games.

The England youth international made his EFL debut aged 15 years and 73 days for Oldham Athletic in 2019 - the second youngest in EFL history.

Emmerson was 28 days older than Reuben Noble-Lazarus, who set the record for Barnsley in 2008.

I fell asleep before the end of the window only to wake up this morning to discover our new signings.

Throughout the window our first team signings have been very young with an emphasis on loans. It's anyone's guess as to how the season will pan out. I'm worried about our physical presence.

Very very happy with the development squad signings.

I'm convinced we'll be getting 1 or 2 free agents.

I expect a free agent to be signed no later than Wednesday.

If we don't get him by then there's not much point as we'll be moving toward the international break, the World Cup and the the next transfer window

It's clear that Appleton wants a decent all round footballer who can handle the number 6 roll alone.

Other thing - Appleton seems to want an experienced head in the team / squad since Keogh left.

Could Drinkwater have been that guy? The answer is possibly. We'll never know but he would've been a huge punt if indeed we "went over and above" for him.

It's Appleton's call but we might've dodged one on this occasion. Drinkwater's form over that last 2/3 years doesn't warrant the boat being pushed out. Neither does Bridcutt's.

It's 2 weeks since the transfer window closed and one of these OOC players hasn't stepped up.

I'd leave it now.

Wait until January or even next summer for the right guy.

We're well stocked with holding midfielders anyway. There's no rush.

Stewart and Connolly both have the bite but lack the finesse required for a 4-1-4-1. Both are, however, perfectly serviceable for championship football.

Stewart would be ideal and you never know. He could get fit and have the season of his life.

An existing player could be converted to play there. Appletons's tried with Fiorini but he got overrun and had to give way to Dougall. I'm sure on his highlights video that Wright has played the holding position a lot albeit at development level. A player conversion isn't out of the question.
