Palace put price tag on Eze
at 16:55 7 May 2024

Agree got a lot of time for Palace, one of my mates a season ticket holder there is a lot of mutual respect as they are a similar club to QPR and during the late 70s and early 80s our paths crossed a lot i.e. managers/player transfer. What has really impressed with Palace is that they have found a very good way of operating at the top level of the Premiership without spunking tons of money. The only problem they have is trying to keep up spending at a level that can sustain their Premiership status.

Ainsworth 'Titbit' via the Stevenage Forum

Regardless of what Ainsworth may have or may not have said, he was awful at QPR and the debacle witnessed in his 8 months in charge was symptomatic of his approach if you can call it that to managing a professional football club. The image, the stupid gimmicks wore very thin with me and more importantly what did those players who are top class athletes think looking at their manager on the touchline, think we know the answer not much as we were seen as a joke. We now have a manager who looks and acts the part of a top level professional.

Last game for Ilias Chair
at 08:10 5 May 2024

Hopefully not if all this stuff around possible jail still hanging around unlikely anybody will take a risk in buying him, might be the reason he has not been sold in the past, too much risk of an investment. He has been very good back end of the season think the resurgence of Willock and the quality of Andersen alongside him has improved both his morale and quality of his game.

A few months ago would have said time to go, but like a lot of players at this club they have found their mojo again under Marti Cifuentes. As mentioned by others if his motivation is money then bye bye if he sees a bigger picture possibly may sign a new deal. I did find his celebration half hearted yesterday so maybe he is already on his way?

Thought he did really well yesterday, we should save our money towards other areas and get him in as No.1. I do like Begovic as a keeper he has made vital saves this season but think we know he is only a one season player on a big wage. To be honest if Begovic can be persuaded to stay on as a no.2 in a mentoring position on a sensible wage that would be ideal.

Is Reggy Cannon now the only weak link in our defence?

You could see he was nervy early on but grew into the game.

RIP - Richard Tandy of ELO
at 17:33 2 May 2024

ELO keyboardist Richard Tandy has passed away. Great band ELO , first saw them at Wembley Arena in 1978 and last time as Jeff Lynne's ELO at the O2 in 2018.

Ipswich will probably struggle but they might get a foothold who knows. For QPR I want a strong competitive Championship team who are actually progressing with a push for promotion in the next couple of seasons. The last 2 seasons we have gone backwards but think with Marti we can now draw a line under this and push on again and be a force in this division which we have not really been since relegation 9 years ago.

Are we capable of going up next season.
at 12:14 1 May 2024

Would like us to aim for being in the top 10 and if we are good enough a chance of a play off place. One of the biggest priorities is getting Loftus Road back to fortress status and a tough place to come for a result.

I think now that Andersen and Willock are motoring in those attacking midfield positions they have taken the pressure of Chair holding it all together on the attacking front. It all came together nicely on Friday night against Leeds and Chair showed a great amount of maturity in his performances and his dead ball delivery was superb, Andersen is also a great deliverer on those as well.

Money aside etc, it must have been a real body blow to him how it turned out at Rangers, he just was not good enough to manage a team at this level. Wish him well for the future but we had a lucky escape if we had kept him a few games more we would have been playing League 1 football next season.

Some of the oldtimers here
at 15:08 28 Apr 2024

We have 2 grandchildren, granddaughter aged 6 and grandson aged 4, they are a joy and we get to spend a lot of time with them helping out mum and dad with childcare two days a week as we both took early retirement. I spent most of my working life commuting to London so never really did the school run and pick ups with our daughters, but I now do this on a regular basis. A bit weird being called Granddad at first you still feel you are not at that age but you soon get used to it and realise the importance of being there for them.

I thought it was a good speech got me pumped up for the 2nd half, as for the Leeds fans what can you say that has not already been said about them. To be honest I hardly heard them last night probably due to how loud we were and that we bossed the game.

Has stepped up and shown his experience in the run in. Still worries me with those silly yellow cards like last night and against Preston, but he has shown real quality and played well last night. Hope we sign Hayden in the Summer he brings a calming influence into proceedings as well.

Willock - Will He Stay?

Willock has got his mojo back, links up really with Andersen. Interesting to see if he signs up to a new deal or will he move on as we suspect?
